"Short but Good"
It took a little while to get used to the songs, but that was part of the original book and should be included. It was entertaining, fun, and a pretty good dramatization of the book. If anything it was a little short and glossed over the details, but I enjoyed it. It would be good material for a car trip, especially with kids.
"Derailed"
I feel like this series took an unexpected turn. I know that Brandon Sanderson, the author, started writing the 'wheel of time' series, and I feel like the story and mythology of the 'wheel of time' series heavily influenced the final book of the Mistborn series.
Suddenly I was reading about an epic struggle between a pure evil force and powerful but obviously mortal main characters as an impending doomsday looms overhead. The evil force gathers power and mocks the protagonists as they rush about to find an unlikely way to beat it. Sound familiar? The bad guy and the plot are just too much like the wheel of time series and too unlike book 1 and 2 from Mistborn.
"Best book in the series"
This story was amazing. The characters, magic, and plot are so well developed and so intriguing that I couldn't put this down. I stayed up all night listening! This is the first book in the Mistborn series, and I honestly think it's the best. Somehow, book 2 and 3 didn't quite live up to the complex, intriguing, exciting, and unforgettable 'Final Empire.' That's not to say you shouldn't finish the series, but 'The Final Empire' is just so memorable and haunting.
"Highly Recommended for Everyone"
I love the style of this book. The author gives solid facts and science instead of just anecdotal evidence to support his ideas about exercise. This book sparked my interest in neuroplasticity and sparked my motivation to exercise more. I think this is one of my favorite books from audible!
"Good story, noisy narration"
I like this series, but I have a difficult time enjoying the audiobook because of the narration. The reader makes a lot of mouth noises like he's eating toffee, and he breathes and swallows very loudly. He does a good job with the characters, but I have a hard time getting into the story because of all the background mouth noise.
"Witty and Fantastic"
Yes, I would read the whole series again and again. The story is so exciting and fun.
It's hard to choose. I love Oberon, but it's hard not to love him. I really like the main character. His personality and his magical abilities are well developed. The mythology in the book is great.
I can hardly wait for the next book in the series!
"Great Story"
Imaginative, Exciting, Humorous
I love the characters. The characters in the story have the right balance of funny/lightheartedness and serious/tension. Oberon is my favorite character.
I've listened to all the Iron Druid books. I think he does a fantastic job in all of them. Great narration!
I've gone though the mistborn series, the kingkiller chronicles, the song of fire and ice, and lots of other fantasy series. I think this one is my favorite!
