Folly Beach is the land of Cate Cooper's childhood, the place where all the ghosts of her past roam freely. Cate never thought she'd wind up in a tiny cottage on this breathtakingly lovely strip of coast. But circumstances have changed, leaving Cate homeless, broke, and unmoored. Yet Folly Beach holds more than just memories. Once upon a time another woman found unexpected bliss and comfort within its welcoming arms. An artist, writer, and colleague of the revered George Gershwin, Dorothy Heyward enjoyed the greatest moments of her life at Folly....

I have been a fan of this author for years, as I am from the coast of SC and enjoy hearing about nearby places. I am accustomed to the happy endings that she includes in her books, but this one was just too much. The main character goes from the death of her husband to a move to another state, true love, writing a stellar play that is so grand that it is put on in Charleston, casting the play, rehearsals for the play, seeing a ghost, launching her daughter's hugely successful career and having a grandchild all in nine months. The only thing believable about this book and timeline is the grandchild. She should have let her win the lottery too as that would have fit all of the good luck this woman had in the book. Not worth the credit.

What if your whole world was a lie? What if a single revelation - like a single choice - changed everything? What if love and loyalty made you do things you never expected? The explosive conclusion to Veronica Roth's #1 New York Times best-selling Divergent trilogy reveals the secrets of the dystopian world that has captivated millions of listeners in Divergent and Insurgent.

I could not wait for this book to come out and purchased it on the first day available. I could not have been more disappointed with the story and culmination of this trilogy. It was as if another author had written the book and finished up the story for Veronica Roth. She did not stay true to any of the characters or the story line. If you like the first two books, then let that be the end for you. Do not put yourself through the heartbreak of what happens to the characters in this pitiful ending to a great first two acts.

When Colton Burpo made it through an emergency appendectomy, his family was overjoyed at his miraculous survival. What they weren’t expecting, though, was the story that emerged in the months that followed—a story as beautiful as it was extraordinary, detailing their little boy’s trip to heaven and back.

Blessed are the children, and there is truly a blessing to be received from this book. As a parent, it broke my heart at times. As a Believer, it made my heart soar. For anyone who ever wondered if Heaven is for real, after hearing this book, you'll know.

Kate Hollis' ex-boyfriend's face plasters newsstands and TV, the Internet, and the multiplex. Jake Sharpe is one of the biggest recording stars on the planet, and every song he's famous for is about Kate. For over a decade his soundtrack has chased her - from the gym to the supermarket, from the dentist's office to the bars. Now 30-year-old Kate gets the call that Jake has finally landed back in their Vermont hometown for an MTV special. The moment she has been waiting for has arrived.

The book was slow and frustrating. The main character is weak and makes you want to just shake her. However, as the book has so little depth, I guess the character cannot be expected to be anything but shallow. Save your credits for something more worthwhile.

Why we think it’s a great listen: The most celebrated performance in all of Audible’s history, The Help has nearly 2,000 5-star reviews from your fellow listeners. We hear the print book’s not bad, either. In pitch-perfect voices, Kathryn Stockett creates three extraordinary women whose determination to start a movement of their own forever changes a town, and the way women - mothers, daughters, caregivers, friends - view one another.

This book was awesome and so enhanced by the gifted narrators. As a Southerner I love to hear a true accent when a Southern accent is called for (or at least a VERY good imitation). These ladies did not disappoint. They made a great story mesmerizing. I listened in the car and found myself spending a lot of time in the parking lot with the sound turned up.
