"Excellent book"
Would definitely recommend to those who enjoy historical fiction or stories of survival.
I learned a lot from this book and I felt as if I where on the ships myself. Other books that I enjoyed that are similar are
"Changed my life"
Live like an Okinawan. This book shows you how to live like the healthiest people in the world (and shocker it's not Americans). It's a great look at different cultures and how our health is tied to what we eat and how we live.
The China study and The Food Revolution are two other great books to read with a similar theme.
This is the best book I have ever read. It has changed the way I eat, exercise, and live. I am stronger, faster, and healthier than I have ever been. It may not have that dramatic of an impact on everyone but it should make you rethink everything you put in your mouth from now on.
"Intelligent storytelling"
I loved this book. It is like "The Road" and "I am Legend" combined. I did not want it to end and I certainly hope there is a sequel. There is a lot of cursing and bloodshed in the book so if that offends you may want to stay away. If you want more action and less story development you could go for the abridged version. However, I would not miss this one.
"Bad language and sex"
I purchased Neverwhere and really enjoyed it. So I decided to try American Gods. I stopped listening about 6 hours in. I was sick of listening to the F word every 5 seconds. I also don't like hearing about prostitutes and gay sex (in graphic detail). I'm no prude, but give me a break. I wish Audible would at least warn people with a graphic language and sex label. Loved Neverwhere. Hated American Gods.
