Lee Strobel has been a favorite of mine since I read his Case for Christ, Case for Faith, and Case for a creator book several years ago. Recently I found and read Case for thr Real Jesus. This book, although different in tone and focus shares that quality of excellence I have come to expect from mister Strobel. His insight, suggestions and warnings about pitfalls to avoid were helpful to me, who is actively trying to grow an old and dying church in my area.
As good as the content of the book was, I could only listen for a few minutes at the time. At age 10, my children could read better than this narrator. Additionally, the man's voice is like nails on a chalk board. After 10 or 15 minutes of listening to him, I get an urge to kick a small animal.
The solution is I will buy a print copy, and note this fellow's name so I am not in a position to hear him again--EVER.
This is a book I will undoubtedly read several times. As a student of Apostolic Doctrine, I have bookmarked several key points. My only regret is that this is an abridged version and I cannot locate the unabridged one, or I would buy that as well.
Many people in this post-modern era rewrite history and create their own Jesus. This book reminds us that their was a confrontational (but not belligerent) side to Christ. I mean, the authorities of His day had reasons to kill Him, and it's not because the Lord baked them cookies.
Although I have never cared much for John MacArthur, he really knocks this one out of the park.
This was one of the best personal stories I have ever read. Medved appeals to the heart and mind of the INDIVIDUAL, and I felt like he was speaking to me, personally. I can imagine that many others felt this way as well.
This is a special kind of artistry, and the story should appeal to people of various political stripes.
If I could rate this lower than 1, I would gladly do it.
Soros must have been born twins because no one person could be this dumb. Reading the cover of the title wastes 5 seconds of your life.
the qestion one is left with is "If you hate America this much, why not move?"
Just when you thought you knew how BAD Democrats and Liberals were, Ann Coulter shows us that they're worse than we thought, and have been for some time.
Unfortunately, the Liberals and Democrats won't get half as angry over this as they should, because you need an IQ in the double digits to comprehend all the nuances.
I spent the first half of the book wide-eyed as Ann revealed the perfidy of Democrats who have since been cleansed by nostalgia and revisionism--chief among the FDR and Harry Truman, who I once thought of as merely a lovable dope.
This should be required reading in any Political Science OR Journalism course, but of course, it won't be. I want to place an order for Coulter's next book right NOW!!
