someone who has a strong stomach for torture
The performance was okay, completely overshadowed by the disturbing images of the torture of children.
I always like the Alex Cross books, but I would have skipped this one entirely. I almost stopped reading it after the torture scene with the children, but I had hope it would get better. It really didnt. I was disturbed to the end. Not for me.
Although some of the story was a little slow moving, I was still drawn into the characters, the storylines and the overall plot. I enjoyed the fantasy of Ann, James and Alex and felt the joy and the heartbreak of the their triangle relationship. I kept thinking the end was predictable, but it was not what I had assumed. I enjoyed Megan Hart's writing style and the portrayal of a good girl with sensible values, and her struggle with doing the right thing vs. doing the best thing throughout the story.
