I loved this book. The plight of children being send away time and time again is heartbreaking and told in such a voice of normalcy that it makes one who is not English wonder just how far the English upper lip can stretch.
Filth is a pure example of a child sent away to fend for himself at 5 years of age, and his actions, because of this are true to form. His search for love and belonging is so well written that you can feel the dispare every time he fails. Definitely worth the read

Almost impossible to stay awake by. This story drones on and on and says nothing. Half would have been much to much. too much detail, too little content. After a while even the narrator who has a nice reading voice begins to irritate

The voice of the narrator is so irritating that my mind kept drifting off so as not to have to listen to it. I found myself sometimes an half hour further, not knowing what I had heard. Sometimes I even fell asleep. I think that the story is a good one, but in this form with this narrator it is impossible to really know.

I bought this book with a discount and was planning to stop my account with Audible. One too many narrations that put me to sleep. This book has changed my mind. It is very well narrated and the plot is not only spellbinding, but very realistic. I have held my breath more than once when one of the characters finds herself in a very harrowing situation. I can't stop listening. I highly reccomend this.

the narrating is goed, but the story seems to go on and on as if the author has no idea where to end. The changes in time are very confusing and the descriptions of characters and their actions are exhausting. The plot is good although at times a bit hard to believe. A good "who dun it"if you have the patience to read through so much trivia.
