I was more annoyed than disappointed. I sometimes fall asleep listening to audiobooks and need to repeat a chapter or two because I missed some of the narrative. This book imitated the effect of missing something, but without the sleep. It was like listening to a poorly abridged book.
When the last Pendergast book ended I yelled nooooo! I wasn't ready for the story to end, but looked forward to a continuation here. This book was good. The story and performance were classically strong Preston & Child. But what happened?
