Ever wondered what early experiences shaped Reacher's explosive career as butt-kicker supreme, the one-man guided-missile battler for justice? In this original new short story, Lee Child looks back on an incident in his hero Jack Reacher's teenage years as the younger son of a tough career US Marine, on a faraway military base in the Pacific.

Chris says: "Good to learn about Reachers childhood"
    "A good short read."

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I would recommend this to Jack reacher fans because it tells us about him as a young boy. It helps the reader to understand his character development.

What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)

It was a nice satisfying ending.

Have you listened to any of Kerry Shale???s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I don't mind his reading but I prefer Jeff Harding.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

No, I was happy to listen to aboutm half an hour at a time.

Why should distinguished Edwardian Cabinet minister Edwin Straford resign at the height of his career? Why does the woman he loves so suddenly reject him? Why, 70 years later, should people go to such lengths to prevent the truth coming out?

What made the experience of listening to Past Caring the most enjoyable?

It was a complex story but had so many twists and turns you just had to keep listening.

What other book might you compare Past Caring to and why?

I don't think I have heard or read a book quite like this one.

Have you listened to any of Paul Shelley???s other performances before? How does this one compare?

This master story teller is a master at accents and different voices.

Who was the most memorable character of Past Caring and why?

My favourite character was the narator, despite his flawed character and bad past.

Roger Brown has it all. He's the country's most successful headhunter. He has a beautiful wife and a magnificent house. And to maintain this lifestyle, he's also a highly accomplished art thief. At a gallery opening, his wife introduces him to Clas Greve. Not only is Greve the perfect candidate for a position with one of Roger's high-profile clients, he is also in possession of 'The Calydonian Boar Hunt' by Rubens, one of the most sought-after paintings in the world.

Where does Headhunters rank among all the audiobooks you???ve listened to so far?

Jo Nesbo never lets you down and this is one of the best books I've listened to. It starts so innocently that you don't see the thrills coming when suddenly wham!

What did you like best about this story?

The main character is so wicked and yet there is someone even worse than him.

Have you listened to any of Sean Barrett???s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I love Sean Barrett. He is so good at telling a story.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I had a long car trip which this book suited perfectly and I didn't want to get out of the car.

    Any additional comments?

Loved it so much I bought the book for friends for Christmas.
