Eva never really wanted to be a mother - and certainly not the mother of a boy who ends up murdering seven of his fellow high school students, a cafeteria worker, and a much-adored teacher who tried to befriend him, all two days before his 16th birthday. Now, two years later, it is time for her to come to terms with marriage, career, family, parenthood, and Kevin’s horrific rampage, in a series of startlingly direct correspondences with her estranged husband, Franklin.

What would have made We Need to Talk About Kevin better?

I have tried three times to listen to this book - I am about four hours in and I just cant do it. This is about the 30th book I have listened to this year and the first one I have ever not finished. I find the writing pretensions, arrogant and annoying. Maybe this is the intention, if so it is done so expertly that it has resulted in me being unable to listen to another word! I am normally a pretty generous reviewer - not a picky reader.

Jo Ellen Hathaway thought she had escaped the house long ago. It was where she spent her loneliest years, after her family was shattered by the sudden, unexplained disappearance of her mother.

But now, the sprawling resort off the coast of Georgia haunts her dreams. Even more haunting are the pictures that someone is sending her - strange close-ups, candid shots, and finally, the most shocking and heartbreaking portrait of all: a photograph of her long-lost mother. . . naked, beautiful, and dead.

Great book - enjoyable characters - lots of stories and romances to keep you interested. Good NR twists and turns - I enjoyed it but I have to say that I worked out the
'mystery' very early on - as opposed to most of her books which have always surprised and delighted me with the twist at the end. So a little predictable but still a good listen.

Daughter of a cold, controlling mother and an anonymous donor, studious, obedient Elizabeth finally let loose one night, drinking too much at a nightclub and allowing a strange man’s seductive Russian accent to lure her to a house on Lake Shore Drive. The events that followed changed her life forever. Twelve years later, the woman now known as Abigail Lowery lives alone on the outskirts of a small town in the Ozarks. A freelance programmer, she works at home designing sophisticated security systems.

My first Nora Roberts book and I will be looking for others. This was a great read, good characters, great story that kept moving and interesting twists and turns. Not predictable and cliche - even some romance. Something for everyone! Don't hesitate.

Good solid listen - good interesting characters, romance, intrigue, mystery and a good twist. Well worth it. Narration took a while to warm up to but enjoyed in the end.

The women at Vows - a wedding planning company in Connecticut - make it their business to create memorable events for couples sealing their bonds. And though the bonds among Parker, Emma, Mac, and Laurel may not be official, they are very real - and equally worthy of celebration.

I stated Nora Roberts with the Witness and Carnal Innocence , so I had high hopes when I moved onto this book. What a disappointment. Story was weak and corny. It reads like a high school romance novel. I struggled through it. Can't blame the narration - the story was weak too. Other two books were great.
