Chloe needs a holiday. She's sick of making wedding dresses, her partner Philip has troubles at work, and the whole family wants a break. Her wealthy friend Gerard has offered the loan of his luxury villa in Spain - perfect.

Robin says: "below average for wickham/kinsella"
"Second try at Wickham, still disappointed"
    Overall

I am a HUGE fan of all Sophie Kinsella’s books. This is the second Madeleine Wickham book I have tried, and I didn’t like either of them.
The monotone of the narrator didn’t keep my attention, and the plot was slow.

    Any additional comments?

Try the abridged version. The story seems to go on and on with nothing significant happening.

  • The Time Traveler's Wife

    • UNABRIDGED (17 hrs and 43 mins)
    • By Audrey Niffenegger
    • Narrated By Fred Berman, Phoebe Strole
    Overall

    Performance

    Story

Clare and Henry have known each other since Clare was six and Henry was 36. They were married when Clare was 23 and Henry was 31. Impossible but true, because Henry is one of the first people diagnosed with Chrono-Displacement Disorder: periodically his genetic clock resets and he finds himself misplaced in time, pulled to moments of emotional gravity from his life, past and future. His disappearances are spontaneous, his experiences unpredictable, alternately harrowing and amusing.

Scott says: "Epic Drama & Love Story through Time Travel"
    "dragggged"
    Overall

I like the story and the characters, but I lost interest in the second part. I would have done better with an abridged verison.

  • Making the Shift: How to Live Your True Divine Purpose

The Shift is a call to become more conscious, to move from aimless ambition to meaning and purpose. Making this Shift is a necessity in order to live a peaceful, fulfilling life aligned with your divine calling. In this deeply engaging live seminar, Dr. Wayne W. Dyer explains that instead of heeding the demands of the ego, which keep you mired in self-sabotage through never-ending pleas and false promises, you can choose to move in a new direction.

David says: "Just when I thought I've heard it all...."

I loved the movie The Shift, and enjoyed this audio very much.
I had as many “laugh out loud” moments as I did “ah ha” moments.
    Highly recommended.

  • One for the Money

    • ABRIDGED (2 hrs and 53 mins)
    • By Janet Evanovich
    • Narrated By Lori Petty
    Overall
    (752)
    Performance
    (174)
    Story
    (176)

Meet Stephanie Plum, a bounty hunter with attitude. Desperate for work, with her Miata repossessed and her refrigerator empty, she cons her way into a job as an "apprehension agent" for a bail bondsman. This best selling debut earned Evanovich nominations for the Edgar, Anthony, Agatha, Shamus, and Macavity awards.

Connie says: "Abridged......Left out so much!"
    "better as a paper book"
    Overall

I have many friends who rave about this book, after they read it. I did not like the narrator, and that ruined the book for me.
