  • All the Shah's Men: An American Coup and the Roots of Middle East Terror

    (234)

In a cloak-and-dagger story of spies, saboteurs, and secret agents, Kinzer reveals the involvement of Eisenhower, Churchill, Kermit Roosevelt, and the CIA in Operation Ajax, which restored Mohammad Reza Shah to power. Reza imposed a tyranny that ultimately sparked the Islamic Revolution of 1979 which, in turn, inspired fundamentalists throughout the Muslim world, including the Taliban and terrorists who thrived under its protection.

Would you try another book from Stephen Kinzer and/or Michael Prichard?

For sure I do. Because his books reflect current USA policy towards other counties. For example, regarding my country Iran, They are trying to hid what USA did in 1979 by overthrowing the Shah for the oil behind Mosadegh. Kinzer is trying to show Mosadegh as a national hero to cover the mess they did in 1979 in the middle east. This book is a shame. We, young Iranian, won't let those guys like Kinzer change our country's history.

What was most disappointing about Stephen Kinzer’s story?

He demonize Shah and make Mosadegh as a hero. It's been USA policy for a long time to make Mosadegh as a hero to hid the reality of what they had done during 1977 to 1979 in Iran.

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

    Anger and disappintment

    Any additional comments?

As I said we will speak up against any untrue narration about our country's history. We will tell all the world what is the reality about the Shah of Iran who was overthrown by USA and the conspiracy USA ans UK had done about it.
