Enjoyed both books and cannot wait to listen to the final book. The book pulls you in and keeps your attention through the whole thing. I would actually listen to them again.

A middle-aged man returns to his childhood home to attend a funeral. He is drawn to the farm at the end of the road, where, when he was seven, he encountered a most remarkable girl, Lettie Hempstock. Forty years earlier, a man committed suicide in a stolen car at this farm at the end of the road. Like a fuse on a firework, his death lit a touchpaper. The darkness was unleashed, something scary and thoroughly incomprehensible to a little boy. And Lettie - magical, comforting, wise beyond her years - promised to protect him, no matter what.

It was worth listening to, but not anything that I would ever feel compelled to listen to again. Glad that I got it on sale versus using one of my credits. It was only 3 stars for me - I reserve 4 stars for great books and 5 stars for those books that I could listen to again and again. It was an interesting book that kept my attention throughout the entire book with good writing and great narration, but at the end of the book I thought to myself "That is it?"

Jungles come in many forms. There are the steamy rain forests of the Burmese highlands. There are the lies and betrayals of the world of covert operations. And there are the dark and twisted thoughts of a man bent on near-global domination. To pull off their latest mission, Juan Cabrillo and the crew of the Oregon must survive them all.

Good listen. My first Cussler book and I will listen to more now. It kept my attention throughout the entire book. It didn't keep me on the edge of my seat, but it was a good steady book and I did not find myself tuning out at any point. It was enjoyable and I would recommend the listen. You can listen to it with kids in the vehicle as well, no graphic violence and no dancing in the sheets.

The Wheel of Time turns and ages come and go, leaving memories that become legend. Legend fades to myth, and even myth is long forgotten when the age that gave it birth returns again. For centuries, gleemen have told the tales of The Great Hunt of the Horn. So many tales about each of the Hunters, and so many Hunters to tell of. Now, the Horn itself is found: the Horn of Valere long thought only legend, the Horn which will raise the dead heroes of the ages.

This is a tale of sorrow, a tale of survival, a tale of one man's search for meaning in his universe, and how that search, and the indomitable will that drove it, gave birth to a legend.

Don't be scared off by the books summary which starts with a "tell of sorrow". I put off listening to this book for 2 years simply because I thought it was going to be this super sad story. Not true at all. I must admit that I had to listen to the first 2 hours multiple times because I kept loosing interest and would miss parts, but really it is only setting the stage for the storytelling that is about to take place. It is like sitting around a campfire listening to a friend tell you their life story. It is not edge of seat 24/7, but it is steady entertaining story that truly keeps you engrossed throughout. I thoroughly enjoyed it and would highly recommend it. And honestly I can't give you any other book for comparison because it is unique, but I can tell you that you will not be disappointed. For those parents out there that might want to listen to it with kids in the car that might hear some of it - there is no bad language, no under the covers content nor really any reference to anything like that at all, no graphic violence.

It was mildly entertaining. It kept me listening, but not on the edge of my seat nor was it memorable. I like most James Patterson books - this one just wasn't a standout for me. If you need something to fill time with to listen to then this will work.

This book got such good reviews and high stars that maybe it is just me. I listened to it, but would I ever listen to it again - no. Was I entertained and pulled in enough to want to listen to the next book - no. It was something to listen to and it wasn't bad at all, but for me it wasn't worthy of 4 or 5 stars. It was just an average read and not worth any more credits for such short books. There is absolutely nothing wrong with average reads, but for me to give 4 stars I have to be sad when the book ends or completely enthralled and for 5 it has to be stellar! I preferred the Iron Druid series over this.

Good entertaining read and enjoyed it all the way through. I plan to pre-order Book 3 because I am enjoying the series so much. Highly recommend for anyone who likes entertaining books with only mild violence (it does have some violence but no graphic details), a little romance (mostly just the occasional kiss), and a good story line. I would rate it PG-13 and did not have any issues listening to it with my young daughters in the car, only turning it down low occasionally. Only gave it 4 stars because I reserve 5 stars for those books that I could listen to over and over again.

In Beatrice Prior's dystopian Chicago, society is divided into five factions, each dedicated to the cultivation of a particular virtue - Candor (the honest), Abnegation (the selfless), Dauntless (the brave), Amity (the peaceful), and Erudite (the intelligent). On an appointed day of every year, all sixteen-year-olds must select the faction to which they will devote the rest of their lives. For Beatrice, the decision is between staying with her family and being who she really is - she can't have both. So she makes a choice that surprises everyone, including herself.

If you liked the Hunger games then you should like this series too. The story line by itself is not exactly like the Hunger games, but it is similar enough that I would recommend it to anyone who enjoyed that series. I enjoyed it and was able to listen to it with my kids in the car (although they were watching DVDs) without turning it down so low I could barely hear it. No bad language, no adult content mostly just the occasional kiss and some violence, but nothing I consider graphic violence.
