There are a lot of monsters in Anita Blake's life. And some of them are human. One such individual is the man she calls Edward, a bounty hunter who specializes in the preternatural. He calls her to help him hunt down the greatest evil she has ever encountered - something that kills and maims and vanishes into the night. Something Anita will have to face alone.

This book is incredible. I loved the side story story after seeing how the darker jeweled blood lived in the other books. I Love Cassidy and Grey and Ranon. Vae too!
However, I am very annoyed with the narrator. I bought all of the other books and I can't understand how Janelle suddenly has the Schelt accent!!! For the first 3 books she has a slight accent but nothing like this. This whole book she sounds like Morghan. It irritated me so badly that I had to fast forward all of her parts which meant missing Daemon. I just don't get how the same narrator can just completely change from one book to the next.

Phoebe Alexis Courtland had a plan. As a paralegal studying for the bar, she decided while in Vegas for a conference she would let off some steam with her friends. When Phoebe wakes the last day of her weekend trip to Vegas, she finds one of the biggest princess cut wedding rings on her ring finger while lying on top of a naked chiseled-chest god. Phoebe remembers nothing of her drunken night of love and is determined to have the marriage annulled immediately.

so the book started out pretty good. all characters were behaving rationally and their actions made sense. however, that quickly changed and the main character started behaving very irrationally and kept changing her mind abruptly. I still don't understand what she was so confused about and why she was behaving the way she was. it's very sad because the book seem to have a lot of potential. I would not recommend this book to other people.

The book was pretty good. It reminded me of an old harlequin novel except with a black woman heroine. There was not a lot of depth to the story but it was sweet, short and a little hot. The narrator was kinda bad and it made it very difficult to get into the story.

Ella is the last of a dying breed of humans who live hidden deep in the forests of Washington State. All of her life, she has heard horror stories about the Others, the beasts that live beyond the safety of the mountains. In ancient times, humans and the Others lived together in peace, but a great battle divided them, and the shape-shifting species won the war.

I really loved this book. I found Ella to be smart, funny, resourceful, strong and capable. I found Thai to be kind, sensitive, sexy and understanding. I'm very excited to read more about this world and to see the other characters. the narrator was very good at changing his voice for different characters, even the female characters. I can't wait to see what else this author writes.
