Before the Great Wars and the Old Race of Man, there was a world populated by different beings: elves, demons, faeries, and the like. The Elves and the Demons constantly fought each other, until the Elves finally imprisoned them with the enchanted tree called the Ellcrys. Thousands of years later the Ellcrys still survives and still keeps the Demons imprisoned within the Spell of Forbidding, but not for much longer, the Ellcrys is dying.

Would you try another book from Terry Brooks and/or Scott Brick?

I love brooks novels, but I plan to stick with reading them if this narrator is my only choice.

What didn’t you like about Scott Brick’s performance?

    Nothing

Did The Elfstones of Shannara inspire you to do anything?

Yes. To reread this series the old fashioned way.

    Any additional comments?

I also enjoy classics and think Brick does a good job with those.

On November 22, 1963, three shots rang out in Dallas, President Kennedy died, and the world changed. What if you could change it back? In this brilliantly conceived tour de force, Stephen King - who has absorbed the social, political, and popular culture of his generation more imaginatively and thoroughly than any other writer - takes listeners on an incredible journey into the past and the possibility of altering it.
