In the affluent town of Weslyn, Connecticut, where most people worry about what to be seen in and who to be seen with, Emma Thomas would rather not be seen at all. She’s more concerned with feigning perfection - pulling down her sleeves to conceal the bruises, not wanting anyone to know how far from perfect her life truly is. Without expecting it, she finds love. It challenges her to recognize her own worth - at the risk of revealing the terrible secret she’s desperate to hide.

One-night stands are supposed to be with someone convenient, or wickedly persuasive, or regrettable. They aren’t supposed to be with someone like him. But after a crazy Vegas weekend celebrating her college graduation - and terrified of the future path she knows is a cop-out - Mia Holland makes the wildest decision of her life: follow Ansel Guillaume - her sweet, filthy fling - to France for the summer and just…play.

Would you consider the audio edition of Sweet Filthy Boy to be better than the print version?

Yes, if audio is well done, it brings the characters to life.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Sweet Filthy Boy?

Without giving too much away...the dance studio.

    Which scene was your favorite?

    The dance studio.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

    Close, maybe 2-3 days.

    Any additional comments?

This is my favorite book of Christina Lauren thus far. She did a wonderful job. However, I would like to have liked to have more detail about her time in Paris, Ansel's mysterious background, and the night they first met.

Despite the tumor-shrinking medical miracle that has bought her a few years, Hazel has never been anything but terminal, her final chapter inscribed upon diagnosis. But when a gorgeous plot twist named Augustus Waters suddenly appears at Cancer Kid Support Group, Hazel’s story is about to be completely rewritten. Insightful, bold, irreverent, and raw, The Fault in Our Stars is award-winning-author John Green’s most ambitious and heartbreaking work yet, brilliantly exploring the funny, thrilling, and tragic business of being alive and in love.

If you could sum up The Fault in Our Stars in three words, what would they be?

    Magnificent, powerful, thought-provoking

Who was your favorite character and why?

I loved Hazel and Augustus both, and especially together. However, if I were to have to choose, it would be Hazel. She is a character wise beyond her years. She is brilliant, full of humor, courageous, and a beautiful person.

    Which scene was your favorite?

I loved Gus's last words to her, when she receives the email from Amsterdam. Can't give too much away!

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Absolutely. I had it finished in less than 24 hours.

    Any additional comments?

John Green has created a powerful and exceptional story! The topic is sad and hard to push through with minimal tears. However, it is sweet, thoughtful, and threaded with life lessons. I love the characters, their humor, and their courage. Kate Rudd is my favorite author and she has brought the characters and words to life....once again!

The follow-up to the runaway bestsellers On Dublin Street and Down London Road. Despite her outgoing demeanor, Olivia is painfully insecure around the opposite sex - usually, she can't get up the nerve to approach guys she's interested in. But moving to Edinburgh has given her a new start, and, after she develops a crush on a sexy postgrad, she decides it's time to push past her fears and go after what she wants. Nate Sawyer is a gorgeous player who never commits, but to his close friends, he's as loyal as they come.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes, this book was written very well and Lee Angel has done a fabulous job bringing it to life.

Who was your favorite character and why?

    Nate.

What does Lee Angel bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

She brings each character to life. She was able to differentiate between accents, personalities, and emotions.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

The characters had a good sense of humor, so they did make me giggle. He had that emotional, hard to put down pull, but it did not bring me to tears.

Is there anything you would change about this book?

The lead character became annoying with her perpetual weaknesses.

What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?

Luke was a great character, one that you wanted to root for the entire book. The story was a bit weak.

What did you like about the performance? What did you dislike?

The performance was very average. Not memorable, but did not detract terribly from the book.

Could you see Accidentally on Purpose being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?

    NO!!!

Where does Point of Retreat rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

The series is improving and the writing more interesting. I rank it just below half way down my list.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Will was my favorite character. He is a strong and interesting presence mature beyond his years.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

I can't believe this narrator was considered for this book. No inflection, boring, and mild accent took away from the story.

Layken Cohen isn't your typical 18-year-old. After the recent death of her father, she is forced to be the rock for both her mother and younger brother. Outwardly, she appears resilient and tenacious, but inwardly, she's slowly losing hope. Enter Will Cooper: The 21-year-old new neighbor with an intriguing passion for performing "Slams". Will and Layken immediately form an intense and emotional connection neither of them knew they needed until it was found.

What did you like best about Slammed? What did you like least?

The Slams were intriguing. Very dissatified with the narration. It really hurt the book.

If you’ve listened to books by Colleen Hoover before, how does this one compare?

I have listened to her Losing Hope books. They were outstanding! This did not hold up to those standards; however, this could be in part due to the poor narration.

Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Heidi Baker?

    Kate Rudd or Emily Gavin

Did Slammed inspire you to do anything?

Not really, but I was intrigued by her Slams.

The worldwide phenomenon continues as Eva and Gideon face the demons of their pasts and accept the consequences of their obsessive desires.... From the moment I first met Gideon Cross, I recognized something in him that I needed. Something I couldn’t resist. I also saw the dangerous and damaged soul inside - so much like my own. I was drawn to it. I needed him as surely as I needed my heart to beat. No one knows how much he risked for me. How much I’d been threatened, or just how dark and desperate the shadow of our pasts would become.
