When the men find him, the boy’s legs look like they were run through a wood-chipper. He’s bleeding heavily and near death, but he still has strength to tell them of the monster that attacked him: a dark, massive creature that emerged from the bottom of the lake. The child dies before he can say more. Sheriff Billy Wintone has seen too much superstition, drunkenness, and rage in this small Ozarks town to believe the delirious boy’s tale of a monster lurking under the lake’s dark waters. Like it or not, however, Wintone must scour the woods for the man or beast who killed the child before the start of fishing season.

    What disappointed you about Bonegrinder?

Its monotony of the story was excruciating. I think this story had potential to be good, but just never got there. I found myself being GLAD that it wasn't longer and only finished the book so I'd know what bonegrinder was. Definitely NOT the best work John Lutz has done, not even close.

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

    disappointment and boredom

Daniel Graham MacCormick - Mac for short - seems to have a pretty good life. At age 35 he's living in Key West, owner of a 42-foot charter fishing boat, The Maine. Mac served five years in the army as an infantry officer, with two tours in Afghanistan. He returned with the Silver Star, two Purple Hearts, scars that don't tan, and a boat with a big bank loan. Truth be told, Mac's finances are more than a little shaky. One day Mac is sitting in the famous Green Parrot Bar in Key West, contemplating his life....

I've never EVER not loved one of Nelson Demille's books..until now. It just wasn't really all that interesting. I found myself skipping and fast forwarding a lot, which is not something I've ever done with his books.

Taken in by The Brotherhood, no one could guess what his true history was-or his true identity. Xhex has long steeled herself against the attraction to John Matthew. Until fate intervenes and she discovers that love, like destiny, is inevitable.

Where does Lover Mine rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

    In the BDB series, it's my 3rd favorite, behind Z/Bella & Quinn/Blay

Who was your favorite character and why?

Xhex - Because she is such a tortured bad-ass with a tightly hidden vulnerable side.

What about Jim Frangione’s performance did you like?

Normally I really like it when the reader separates the characters by using different voices; but after listening to the previous books, I don't notice it as much, he's just a good smooth reader.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

When JM found Xhex in her basement, the writing was so well done that I could picture her and how badly she looked and how much JM felt for her, it was very emotional.

    Any additional comments?

I have to say, I was very happy when they finally got together and I'm glad that Xhex isn't going to become one of the "stay at home" shellan's That would not have done justice to her character. She and JM should get to do lots of fighting in the future.

    J. R. Ward's Black Dagger Brotherhood novels have introduced readers to a "different, creative, dark, violent, and flat-out amazing" ( All About Romance) world. Now, as the vampire warriors defend their race against their slayers, one male's loyalty to the Brotherhood will be tested - and his dangerous mixed blood revealed.

Rehvenge....because he is so multi-dimensional. So many layers to his story and personality.

    Which scene was your favorite?

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

The whole rescue and the way Ehlena took care of Rehvenge

Would you consider the audio edition of Lover at Last to be better than the print version?

I liked them both, but in this book, there seemed to be so many other stories going on, not all of them interesting, so the print version was good because I could just skim over the pages that weren't very interesting.

What did you like best about this story?

Quinn's back story and anything to do with Quinn and Blay!

Which character – as performed by Jim Frangione – was your favorite?

    Quinn

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Quinn's induction to the BDB was pretty moving.

    Any additional comments?

I'm not normally into Romance novels, but I have found this series to be very entertaining. While I am a straight female, I found myself getting really excited for this book. The writing was excellent and the fact that the love scenes were two males didn't change a thing for me, I was excited to read their love story and their love making. The focus was on their love, not their GAY LOVE, if that makes sense. I read the book and I'm now listening to the book again. Aside from Bella and Z's story, this one is hands down my favorite. I did wish there was more Quinn and Blay and less all the other stories. Those stories just didn't seem to do anything but take away from what I considered to be the BEST part of the book, which was QUINN, LAYLA, BLAY and SAXTON.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes, because it was a good story and fun to read.

Who was your favorite character and why?

V is my favorite, but Z is a close second. I like his back story and his personality and this book wrote him very well. You could feel his anguish and sincerely wanted everything to turn out good for him.

    Which scene was your favorite?

I didn't have just one in this book. It was really all good. While the lessor's story is relevant, I tend to just skim over their chapters because it's not nearly as interesting as what's going on with the boys!

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

hmmm, not sure, but I'd love it if there was a mini-series of these, each episode dealing with one of the boys' stories. That's be very cool.

Is there anything you would change about this book?

***SPOILERS***I was just really looking forward to V's story because he's one of my favorite characters. But the whole "Ghost" girlfriend thing is just a bit much. I mean I just can't wrap myself around the idea that this Ghost is going to be operating on the boys etc.

Would you be willing to try another book from J.R. Ward? Why or why not?

Absolutely, I'll continue on with the BDB books.

What does Jim Frangione bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

I like his voice, I just wish he could do different voices so you were able to distinguish between the boys as he is reading.

Did Lover Unbound, The Black Dagger Brotherhood, Book 5 inspire you to do anything?

    No

    Any additional comments?

It would be cool if you could somehow make Jane "SOLID"...so the brothers don't accidentally walk through her...that would be really great!! hahaha

I really enjoyed this book.. It had all the entertainment and suspense that Gregg's novels normally have, but involved many players instead of the usual one man/woman against the unknown. All the Characters were brought to life perfectly. You find youself loving the ones you should had HATING the ones you should.

Have you listened to any of Cassandra Campbell and Scott Brick ’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

    Yes

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

Not really. This book just seemed to drag on and it really wasn't very interesting. I've actually fast forwarded through a lot of it.

Has Extinction Machine turned you off from other books in this genre?

No, I just think this one was very disappointing.

What does Ray Porter bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Ray Porter IS awesome. The voices he does are spot on from book to book. You always know the character without him having to point out who it is.

Do you think Extinction Machine needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?

    Joe Ledger books should continue.

An ordinary snapshot causes a mother’s world to unravel in an instant. After picking up her two young children from school, Grace Lawson looks through a newly developed set of photographs. She finds an odd one in the pack: A mysterious picture from perhaps twenty years ago, showing four strangers she can’t identify. But there is one face she recognizes—that of her husband, from before she knew him. When her husband sees the photo that night, he leaves their home and drives off without explanation.

Is there anything you would change about this book?

The male version was good, the female reading this was literally UNLISTENABLE!!! OMG, It was PAINFUL listening to her read this book and if I hadn't been on the road at the time, I would have just stopped listening and bought the book. The story was good, but the end was sort of rushed.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Just One Look?

Wu and Cram were characters that you could actually picture in your mind, even if you've never met anyone in real life like them. All the other characters seemed rushed, and there were quite a few times in the book that I had to fast forward because Grace's character was doing things that didn't work with the character the writer wanted us to think she was.

How could the performance have been better?

PICK A DIFFERENT FEMALE TO READ IT!!! And not spend so much time on irrelevant information and then rushing the end of the book.

Could you see Just One Look being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?

hmmmmnm, Nope, just not "on the edge or your seat" interesting plotline enough to be a movie.

    Any additional comments?

Harlan is such a great writer....please "vet" the actors reading the books a little more before you let them just take on the books. Seriously, they can MAKE or BREAK your book. In this case, had I another book on my player to choose from, I would have move to it immediately because the female reader was just AWFUL!!!!!
