Known by his alias, "Oliver Stone," John Carr is the most wanted man in America. With two pulls of the trigger, the men who destroyed Stone's life and kept him in the shadows were finally silenced. But his freedom comes at a steep price: The assassinations he carried out prompt the highest levels of the U.S. government to unleash a massive manhunt. Behind the scenes, master spy Macklin Hayes is playing a very personal game of cat and mouse. He, more than anyone, wants Stone dead.

My son and I really enjoy all of the Camel Club stories. This one even had some humor. Can't wait for the next story.

Dubbed the American Tolkien by Time magazine, George R. R. Martin has earned international acclaim for his monumental cycle of epic fantasy. Now the number-one New York Times best-selling author delivers the fifth book in his spellbinding landmark series - as both familiar faces and surprising new forces vie for a foothold in a fragmented empire.

The good news is that the book gets better by the third part. I only recently started reading the series, so it was only about three weeks before this was published that I finished book 4, which I had really enjoyed. By going back to the beginning of book 4's time frame, but now with other characters it felt that I had gone back too far and it was repeating itself...he actually used the same conversation between Jon and Sam that had been used in book 4, just from the others perspective. But it gets better. The reader is not bad, but his women are really, really bad...His Daenerys Targaryen is completely off base and makes her sound like an old woman.

I hope book 6 is published is less time and has a consistent timeline.

For years, ex–Navy SEAL Maxwell Moore has worked across the Middle East and behind the scenes for the Special Activities Division of the CIA, making connections, extracting valuable intelligence, and facing off against America’s enemies at every turn. And then...news of a potentially devastating coalition: What if two of the greatest threats to the security of the United States were to form an unholy alliance?

I love Tom Clancy and have read all of his books. This is NOT a Tom Clancy book and he should be ashamed of the check he took to put his name on it. From the beginning I was disappointed and that continued throughout the book to include the cheesy ending. The top authors should think before they sell out their legacy by putting there names on a book when they are not the author as they are cheating the buyers and their fans.

The gigantic comet had slammed into Earth, forging earthquakes a thousand times too powerful to measure on the Richter scale, tidal waves thousands of feet high. Cities were turned into oceans; oceans turned into steam. It was the beginning of a new Ice Age and the end of civilization. But for the terrified men and women chance had saved, it was also the dawn of a new struggle for survival--a struggle more dangerous and challenging than any they had ever known....

Enjoyed the book very much. Lost a star due to the weak ending, other than that it was very compelling and I could not wait so get back in the car to hear what happens next.

No war can last forever. Now, in the long and punishing battle between the defiant champions of the New Jedi Order and the juggernaut that is the Galactic Alliance, the endgame is finally at hand.

    Overall

My son has been waiting for this since he finished listening to Book 8. He loved it and could not wait to get back into the car to hear more, he was actually hoping for red lights to make the drives to school longer. It was a good end to the story and we are looking forward to future stories with the characters we have watched grow over the years.

In 1989 Ken Follett astonished the literary world with The Pillars of the Earth, set in 12th-century England. Readers and listeners ever since have hoped for a sequel. At last, here it is. Although the two novels may be listened to in any order, World Without End also takes place in Kingsbridge, two centuries after the townspeople finished building their exquisite Gothic cathedral. The cathedral is again at the center of a web of love and hate, greed and pride, ambition and revenge.

I listened to the book with my 10 year old. Normally he only wants to listen to Star Wars stories, but he really enjoyed the story and could not wait to get in the car to listen to the next chapter. Don't need to have heard or read the original book, but nice to see the familiar names and places in the new book.

Why we think it’s a great listen: Got 40 hours to kill? You’ll find the time when you start listening to Lee’s take on Follett’s epic – and widely celebrated – novel of 12th-century England. The Pillars of the Earth tells the story of Philip, prior of Kingsbridge, a devout and resourceful monk driven to build the greatest Gothic cathedral the world has known...of Tom, the mason who becomes his architect - a man divided in his soul...and of the beautiful, elusive Lady Aliena, haunted by a secret shame....

Excellent story. Flows very well. You don't want to the story to end, though you want to see how it ends.

He's Hollywood's most dazzling star, who is worshiped by millions and hated by one twisted soul. His existence is under siege as a series of terrifying, enigmatic "messages" breaches the security systems of his Bel Air estate. The boxes arrive mysteriously, one by one, at Channing Manheim's compound. Manheim's security chief, ex-cop Ethan Truman, is used to looking beneath the surface of things. But until he entered the orbit of a Hollywood icon, he had no idea just how slippery reality could be.

    Peggie says: "Entertaining"

I have been an avid audiobook reader for years and have enjoyed many books by Koontz, but The Face was slow to get into and too long. I enjoyed the ending, but it seemed to be a labor to get there.
