    This is easily one of the best books I have listened too. In a word this work is BRILLIANT! What Ms. Mathis does with language and imagery awes me at every step. The structure, the style, the prose - all perfection.

    Jen Lancaster hates to burst your happy little bubble, but life in the big city isn't all it's cracked up to be. Contrary to what you see on TV and in the movies, most urbanites aren't party-hopping in slinky dresses and strappy stilettos. But lucky for us, Lancaster knows how to make the life of the lower crust mercilessly funny and infinitely entertaining.

    This book was offensive. It is by and about a woman who thinks it's charming to be rich, spoiled, selfish and helpless. I couldn't believe the reviews were good. I suspect they were written by the protagonist herself. I thought it was going to be a cute, witty chick book because I love reading light stuff but found myself compelled after listing to most of it taking to the audible review section to warn you about this awful book. That the protagonist thinks she is charming is like a punch in the gut every time she tries to make a joke. It's snobby and sexist. I can't imagine a worse chick novel.
