"Wow, wow, wow."
Just echoing the other reviews here. We all know the story is a classic, but McKellen's reading is just fascinating. No one would have trouble enjoying the classics if they were all presented like this one.
"You'll like it."
I hadn't read Huck Finn since I was a boy and had forgotten just how wonderful a book is. Wood does a very nice job reading - he handles the different accents quite well. I enjoyed it, so I reccommend it.
"A Home Run"
I strongly recommend this to anyone who has an interest in science. Engaging, interesting, fun, and well read. Another review referred to James Burke and that is exactly what I thought of listening to this book. A real treat.
"Very rough recording"
I love this story but this recording is quite a disappointment. I don't care for J. Charles narration, but I can live with that. It's the annoying skipping that makes the book almost impossible to listen to. At first I thought I had inadvertently changed my iPod playback to 'fast' but this was not the case. It's just a bad recording. I have downloaded a couple of dozen books from Audible and this is the first I have been so unhappy with, but if it had been my first attempt, I would not have made another.
