It's rare that I don't get through a book. I can't give an honest review of the story because of the narration. I appreciate a good thick accent but this was missing changes of inflection or something. It was just difficult for me to listen to long enough to really invest in the story.
I'm a fan of the series but this one seemed a bit slower than the others with less going on to keep my interest. Hoping the next is back on track.
It seems the story was just an excuse for alot of sex and not alot of mystery.
The one liners are creative, but I found I didn't care about any of the characters and ultimately the story line didn't engage me much either.
I liked the concept but was a little disappointed with the previous two. I gave this next one a chance and I'm glad I did! It kept my attention to the end.
The parallels between this main character and Harry Dresden is a wee bit disturbing. However that being said, the performance was lovely and the story good. I look forward to the next book. I feel a little like I'm cheating on Jim Butcher, sshhhhhh don't tell him.
Great performance from Emily Durante as usual. This story wasn't listed as a romance, if it had been I wouldn't have chosen it.
This series is always a joy. This installment was no exception. Couldn't stop listening till it was done.
I tried this because I saw the second book in the mystery section. I haven't completed the book and I'm not sure I will because a sex scene every twenty minutes just isn't doing it for me. If sex fits into a story line I'm cool with it. This....well...if the story grabbed me I'd trudge through the constant 'throbbing' but it doesn't.
Because of the positive reviews I took a chance on this one and I live in Portland so I thought this would be a good gamble. BAH! Apparently "clean' means painfully boring. However if you are reaaally into learning about the daily grind of a realtor it might work for you. Wanted to enjoy a good local mystery, sadly disappointed in Portland.
I feel like I'm being read a story by a well intentioned volunteer at the children's section of the library. I'm always on board for a psychic detective and really wanted to like this one but I'm not sure I'm going to make it to the end. Outside of some verbiage this story seems to be more appropriate for middle schoolers.
