Since the death of his longtime partner, Caleb Maguire lives a quiet life in Australia's Victorian high country with only his dog and horses for company. Each day is the same. There are no surprises - good or bad - until a major snowstorm hits his mountain, and Caleb is called out to rescue a stranded tourist. The late-night snow brings with it a lost soul who forces Caleb to reassess his solitary life.

Set in Australia, not the outback fortunately, is the story of snowman and mountain man. Very little of it is actually the two of them together though, mostly it's their individual stories. As such it feels a little disjointed. There were moment where I wondered "when did that happen - was i not listening?" In the end, it does come together, but patience is required. The narrator has a love husky deep bass voice. Sexy as hell, but quite difficult to hear clearly. As for the Aussie accent - I'm on the fence. Just as I started getting used to it, the chapter would end and he'd announce "chêptir 10" and I'd cringe.

Family is not always defined by blood. It's defined by those who make us whole - those who make us who we are. And here, at the end, Bear and Otter will be tested like they've never been before. There's a knock at the door from a little girl who has nowhere else to go. There's a phone ringing, bringing news they do not expect. There's a brother returning home after learning how to stand on his own. As these moments converge, all of their lives will change forever.

The perfect end to BOATK - no huge upsets, no big plot twists, no really big earthquakes (only little ones), but the very best ending to this saga you could wish for.

Brett Taylor's world collapsed three years ago when he lost the love of his life. Almost as bad as the grief is the advice he's starting to get from everyone and their brother, telling him it's time to move on. They're flat-out wrong. He left his career as a musician and escaped to his ranch because he needs the peace and quiet, and he's doing just fine. He doesn't want anyone invading his memory-filled, booze-fueled solitude.

Can someone say predictable? I'm afraid the plot was laid out like a straight road in a desert. Unfortunately the writing didn't make up for it - it was just okay. So the book is okay. I did find myself wanting it to end...

Unquestionably talented figure skater Matty Marcus is willing to sacrifice everything for his Olympic dream, but his lack of discipline cost him the gold once before. Now the pressure's on. He needs a coach who can keep him in line, but top coaches don't come cheap, and Matty can't afford to stay in the game no matter how badly he wants to win. You don't need to invest too much intellectually in this read, but the story is quite rewarding. It has a couple of predictable plot twists, but it's so well written and performed, you won't even notice. Lots of fun.

If you've only read BOATK or other books in that vain, you'll be forgiven for thinking he's best at fluff. Take the time to read Murmuration. Without giving the plot away, he tells a story of an almost too good to be true small town, which kinda is. A story of the best parts of what we can be.

With his father's Ponzi scheme assets frozen, Tom Worthington believes finishing college is impossible unless he can pay his own way. After months of sleeping in his car and gypsy cabbing for cash, he's ready to do just that. But his new older-student housing comes with an unapologetically gay roommate. Tom doesn't ask why Reese Anders has been separated from the rest of the student population. He's just happy to be sleeping in a bed.

Nice enough - doesn't blow your hair back, but has a good premise and a fine set of characters. The narration is good and the story moves at a good pace. All in all, worth a credit.

Derek Pearson likes to think he's an easygoing guy. Uncomplicated, upfront, and unapologetic with what he wants. His what you see is what you get attitude is on prominent display for anyone who cares to look, and his foul mouth is right there to back it up should you miss the point. However, what you see isn't always what you get, and only a select few have ever glimpsed the real man under the brash exterior.

This is the coming out story of Ty and Zayne I've been waiting for. And don't forget the killer kitties, Smith and Wesson, and the tiger. It kinda has it all. Spend a credit and get the book - especially if you've read the rest of the series.

Zeke Gulden is a ruthless Wall Street exec. His hard-edged, no-nonsense attitude has served him well in the cutthroat business world, but less so in his personal life. When he finds out his ex-boyfriend cheated on him with a coworker, Zeke can't let go until he finds a way to get even. However, his meddlesome father has other ideas. The new hire at the family-owned bagel store is somewhat colorful, but his dad is sure he's the perfect man for Zeke.

I'm a huge TJ Klune fan, although in my opinion, he's better at writing drama than the more light hearted stuff. In this book, TJ does not disappoint. Just like "Into this River I drown", TJ is at his very very best. I really hope this will not be his last foray into shifter world - and this book begs for a sequel. How 'bout it TJ?
