For a curious boy like Jess Hall, growing up in Marshall means trouble when your mother catches you spying on grown-ups. Adventurous and precocious, Jess is enormously protective of his older brother, Christopher, a mute whom everyone calls Stump. Though their mother has warned them not to snoop, Stump can't help sneaking a look at something he's not supposed to - an act that will have catastrophic repercussions, shattering both his world and Jess's. It's a wrenching event that thrusts Jess into an adulthood for which he's not prepared.

I really enjoyed this book. Great story, kept my interest from the start, the narration was spot on. Looking forward to other books by this author.

Aaron Littmann, the chairman of one of the country's most prestigious law firms, has just been contacted by a high-profile defense attorney whose client is Nikolai Garkov, a Russian businessman arraigned on terrorism charges for pulling the financial strings behind recent treasonous acts. The attorney informs Aaron that Garkov is looking to switch representation and will pay $100,000 just to take the meeting.

Would you listen to Losing Faith again? Why?

No - I don't typically listen to books more than once but the narrator made it difficult to get through this book even once.

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

Good plot. I've read and loved all of Adam Mitzner's books.

How could the performance have been better?

The narrator takes a breath in at the end of every sentence which drove me crazy. The voices he uses for the different characters is comical and takes away from the plot. When he's just reading, it's not awful, but when he starts doing different character's voices it's almost unbearable.

    Any additional comments?

Read this book - don't listen to it.

Mary Morrissey is living the life of her dreams. She has a loving husband, Tom, two daughters, and twin boys. But beneath the shiny veneer, Mary hasn’t taken a calm breath in 10 years. She lives in a constant state of panic, afraid the secret she’s kept hidden for so long will be revealed, shattering her perfect life. When addictively charismatic ex-boyfriend Landon James reappears during his high-profile Senate campaign, Mary’s fears become even more real.

This book was just OK for me. It was a little slow and it didn't feel like much of anything actually happened in it. Tanya Eby did a nice job but Christopher Lane's voice didn't match up to the Tom character for me.
