Sandra Brown is a true wordsmith. I was hooked on this story from the beginning. Victor Slezak has such a pleasant voice and is a great actor. He could have used a higher pitch when narrating the women's voices but he did a great job. Speakers in the Carolinas do have a pronounced accent. I loved listening to him. I'm pretty picky and I was impressed with the whole production.
A waste of time. No depth to the plot.
I thought I was watching CSI for the first hour or so as the grisly dissection and gore was read by the WORST narrator I have ever heard. I wanted so badly to find out who the bad guy was, but the narrator's inadequate and misplaced emphases or lack of made me shut it off. I may pick up the book if my interest gets rekindled. Love Baldacci but this narrator turned me off big time. Sounded like a bad actor.
Lorelei King does a priceless performance on this one. Her ability to take on the character's voices really brings them all to life. I hope they make a movie out of this! If you've never listened to a book on tape, let this one be the one.
