I loved Terry Brooks' Magic Kingdom series years ago and this story has me hooked AGAIN. I enjoyed Dick Hill immensely! He adds so much to the moods and emotions in the story. I just downloaded the next two books in the series! I recommend this to anyone who loves a GREAT "read". If you think you don't care for the fantasy genre, this might change your mind.
Sadly for me the last book, but a wonderful ending and a lot of enlightenment. Kat is an amazin young woman and her story is so riveting. I think Ms. Collins not only "pulled it off" but with style! The best thing for me about the ending is the feeling of hope and joy and a solid relationship after a lot of hardship. It made me cry!
I kept on reading and couldn't put it down. The action is fantastic and the character development is superb. I loved these kids and was in awe of their ability to adapt. I don't know what I would do in a situation like that, but I sure wouldn't be as resourceful. This book really follows thru without having the dry "fill-in" feeling that a lot of middle books in a series do. I recommend this book to anyone, especially our youth. Life is a struggle and you can come out of it with honor!
I don't think I can say enough good things about this series. It isn't just a good read but a profound though provoking look at humanity and youth and personal struggle. I just enjoyed it so much I didn't want it to end.
I WAS an avid fan of Laurell K. Hamilton until about 3 books ago. Then I don't know what happened, but the Anita Blake books just aren't cuttin' it anymore. Too much repetetion of what's gone before (and I don't mean to bring a new reader up to speed). To much just boring sex - seems like it's to fill pages - and not a whole lot of focus or plot that is interesting. Sorry, but this may be the last book of hers I read.
Kimberly Alexis on the otherhand does a superior job as usual. I don't think I could have made it through the whole book if she hadn't been reading. She's perfect for Anita and all her groupies.
A wonderfully written story with a "spot on" intricate plot line that would make Sir Arthur Conan Doyle a happy man. Mr. Horowitz has definately done his homework and made this a totally complete trip down Sherlock Holmes memory lane. Loved it. Highly recommend it. The performance by Derek Jacobi lent itself to the perfect ambiance.
Kim Harrison's stories keep getting better! I love this series. The first book started out a bit slow, but she's developed some great charachers and expanded their world for a great read.
One problem with this one 'tho - the change in narrators totally sucks! Marguerite Gavin is sooo much better with this book! Ms. Bermingham just doesn't have the multiple voice thing down. Yeesh!
This book is a great sequel to 13 Bullets and I've become a true fan of Laura Caxton. I hope David Wellington writes more books about her. Again, Bernadette Dunne does a superb job of narrating.
This book is a great "read" and I enjoyed every minute of it. The reader Bernadette Dunne is outstanding. If you like paranormal stuff this is for you. Be sure to read this before you read 99 Coffins.
I have ALL of the audiobooks by Robert Goddard that Audible has made available. It's a shame that some of the previous books have dropped off the lists because they are wonderfully written and the narrator couldn't be better. This one is especially good because it really twists and turns and keeps you wondering and the ending is so "different". I highly recommend it and it seems you'd better grab it while it's still available. I love looooong books and this one fills that bill very nicely.
