Clare Cosi used to manage the historic Village Blend coffeehouse…until she opted for quieter pastures and a more suburban life. But after ten years and a little friendly cajoling from the owner (a fresh pot of Jamaican Blue Mountain was all it took), she's back to the grind. With a sprawling rent-free apartment directly above the Village Blend, her cat Java by her side, and plenty of coffeehouse redecorating ideas, Clare is thrilled to return to work. Until she discovers the assistant manager unconscious in the back of the store, coffee grounds strewn everywhere.

Would you try another book from Cleo Coyle and/or Rebecca Gibel?

I love coffee and murder mysteries and NYC - but could not even finish listening to the rest of this book because the foul language was so bad. I tried and listened to more than half because the story line was intriguing but every other word was a curse word. The characters definitely need to improve their vocabulary.

Has On What Grounds turned you off from other books in this genre?

    I am not sure

What didn’t you like about Rebecca Gibel’s performance?

It was fine - I had no issues with it

    Any additional comments?

A waste of my money. I wish I could get a refund. I wish I had been warned.

The year is 2042, and a long-predicted tipping point has arrived. For the first time in human history, the economic pyramid has flipped: The feeble old now outnumber the vigorous young, and this untenable situation is intensifying a battle between competing cultural agendas. Reporter Julia Davidson - a formerly award-winning journalist seeking to revive a flagging career - is investigating the growing crisis, unaware that her activity makes her a pawn in an ominous conspiracy. Plagued by nightmares about her absent father, Julia finds herself drawn to the quiet strength of a man she meets at a friend's church.
