"Narration a little lacking"
The development of the main character took awhile but it turned out to be a pretty good story line. I did not like all the voices the narrator used but overall it was interesting enough to make you want to keep listening.
"Educational and inspiring"
This book gave me an insight to the plight of the Jews during the holocaust period which I did not have. I cared about the people involved, cried with them and wondered how they lived with the horror and meanness they had witnessed. Great book overall.
"Great listen"
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It was interesting. You came to know the characters and wanted to see how it ended.
"Touching"
This was a touching book written about two kids whose lives are a struggle and most likely short. Not a terrible, gut-wrenching book but just a book about how some of our dreams are just that - dreams - and when faced with the reality of it the glitter might not actually be there.
"Eye-opener"
I never thought about what these soldiers have to deal with. Some of the book was so graphic I had to walk away from it for a few days. But I had to come back. Wars have probably always screwed up the minds of the people who fought them but after reading this I really don't know how some of them continue with their lives. I felt for him every moment. Be prepared though. It is disturbing.
"Inspiring"
This was an excellent listen. She is amazing and incredible. I only wish that if I were in the same circumstance I could be as brave...but I doubt it.
"Reality"
This book serves to remind us that doctors are only human, just like the best and the worst of us, who have home lives and past experiences that affect what they do every day. It wasn't one of those books you could not put down but you did want to come back and hear more about their lives. And there were a few surprises, just like in life.
