Im usually a very big fan of the author but I have to be honest; this was not her best work. In terms of action and adventure it was nice to relax to, but as a story it lacked the "Tamora-ness" all of her other books. I liked the charactor Daja alot because she stood out more. Still I gotta pass on this one.

This book is amazingly heartbreaking and powerful. I'm not one who usually gets teary eyed over anything, but the performance Robert Ramirez gave is truly something beautiful as is the writing and composition. 5*****

Be warned: this book is nothing original. Basically, it's a very very depressing version of Harry Potter, Narnia, MirrorMask, City of Bones, and a whole host of other books rolled into one. It was very disappointing and hard to listen to.

I wasn't too sure about this book at first... I'd seen bits and pieces of the movie and thought if it was anything like that I probably wouldn't like it. But I took a chance and I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. The book hooks you from the very first sentence and wraps you in a blanket of mystery. It was very hard to put this one down and I recommend it to any and everyone.

I wasn't sure I would like this book much from what I heard in the little sample given, but I bought it on a whim and was very pleased. The story is dark and gloomy and at times a bit rough to get through (some of the narration is a little muddled) but all in all it was a good listen.

I "liked" this book enough to give it a second listen (in hopes that it would spark up some interest for me) but not enough to buy the second book. The writing was okay, not a whole lot to get excited about, but I thought the characters could do with a bit more meat added to them. The main character just seemed like too much of a whiner to deal with and she never had a sensible solution to any of her situations. The best friend was tolerable, but I couldn't get a good sense of any of the others or what they were like. All in all it's not the greatest book ever written.

I'm not one to after the classics very much but with this one I was gladly proven wrong. The story is excellent and daring (and remarkably modern) as is the reader, John Lee, who paints a stark portrait for the listener with his on spot narration. It's a definite must for all ages!

Oh, the book is much better than the movie. Not to trash the film, but there's more of the Neil Gaiman touch to it than there is portrayed in the movie.

I admit I did enjoy the first book to some degree,
but after the second and third and on to the forth,I was lost. I think it was because the romance blanket was laid on a bit too thickly for my tastes and the writer didn't focus as much on the initial storyline. Plus, all the angst and petty nonsense of all involved kind of wore and tore at my patience. It's definitely not one I'll be re-downloading any time soon.

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion and I usually don't like to contradict, but I found this one to be highly interesting. The way the author weaves in little snippets of the present with the past and the very visual way she describes the artwork that's peppered in makes this book a unique read (listen). I do agree that parts of it are kinda slow but they all tie up in the end.

Lovely and absolutely charming. One of my most favorite books ever!
