"I did not finish this book"
I gort this book based on the hight reader ratings, but it is just not to my taste. I got about half way throught the first half and lost interest. The writing was OK and the reader was not objectionable, but I did not care about the charecters at all and it did not hold my interest.
"can't stand listening to the reader"
I love this book, but I could not listen to it. The reader speaks too fast and has no inflection at all- sort of sounded like a computer reading. If you love Jane Austen try a different production.
"I agree thet the reader is not too good"
I didn't enjoy this book as much as the other I have heard, I just couldn't get over that voice. I guess I will only get the ones read by Barbra Rosenblat
"I love this book"
I don't care if the narrator cannot speak french. I love Julia and have for years. To hear her thoughts and ides for me was wonderful. I was sad to have it end, but now I can look forward to listening again
"What kind of mind comes up with this?"
I have read or listened to all of patricia Cornwell's books, but this is the first time I asked myself just what kind of mind comes up with such a horrific murder description. I had to fast forward the book because it was so graphic. I then had to ask myself about the state of my own mind. I think that I will forgo and future books by this author. I am interested in mystery not gruesome torture and the graphic description thereof.
"one of my favorites"
This is a keeper! I'm on my second listen, and I am enjoying it even more than the first time. I am now playing it for my husband, and he likes it too.
