    >The Now Method is a system of understanding the causes of anxiety, panic, and depression and at the same time reprogramming the subconscious to retake control from the over endorsed conscious or ego. Designed by a sufferer of the symptoms to cure his own condition, the success of the course is partly attributed to the empathy Craig Beck demonstrates throughout....

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

I found some of the information in this recording to be invaluable, such as being aware of your conscious and sub conscious mind, however there are one or two sections that actually increased my anxiety due to his detailed and repetitive description of his own anxiety. His words after this section did not do enough to ease my anxiety enough to make me want to listen to this recording again.
All in all he tells a great story and there is some valuable information in it, but, for me personally, the negatives outweigh the positives.

The reason we meditate, teaches Pema Chodron, is because something is bothering us. Yet the root of suffering and the root of happiness are one and the same: the mind. On Working Directly with the Mind, she offers pithy instructions on taming a wild mind, and becoming fully present with all of our experiences.

What was most disappointing about Pema Chodron’s story?

I found it to be a bit over my head, I wasn't really able to just relax and listen, it required a great deal of thought for someone who is inexperienced.

What didn’t you like about the narrator’s performance?

Not a professional recording, there is someone in the background that you can hear clearing their throat throughout the whole thing and it is very off-putting and unprofessional. I really wish I could get my money back.
