Over the course of his legal career, Andy Carpenter has lost a few cases. But that doesn't mean he forgets his clients. Andy has always been convinced that Joey Desimone, a man convicted of murder nine years ago, was innocent and believes that Joey's family's connections to organized crime played a pivotal role in his conviction. While there isn't much Andy can do for him while he serves out his prison sentence, Joey suggests that he check up on Joey's elderly uncle.

Richard Delman says: "Rosenfelt and Gardner do it again; smooth as butta"
    "The usual excellent Andy Carpenter"

Would you listen to Leader of the Pack again? Why?

Possibly although I almost never listen to a book more than once.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Leader of the Pack?

I thought that Andy solved the dilemma of a guilty client quite well.

Have you listened to any of Grover Gardner’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I have listened to the entire series. This is excellent as they all are. I feel that it is Andy Carpenter telling the story. Gardner is terrific.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

    Absolutely

    Any additional comments?

This is my favorite series of books. I only wish that each book was longer and that there were more of them.

Jussi Adler-Olsen is Denmark's premier crime writer. His books routinely top the bestseller lists in northern Europe, and he's won just about every Nordic crime-writing award, including the prestigious Glass Key Award-also won by Henning Mankell, Stieg Larsson, and Jo Nesbo. Now, Dutton is thrilled to introduce him to America.

If you could sum up The Keeper of Lost Causes in three words, what would they be?

    Great story riveting

What about Erik Davies’s performance did you like?

The accents for the characters gave them more personality

    Any additional comments?

The characters are flawed but believable. The listener is bound to like all of the and care for what happens. As the story develops it is difficult to stop listening

As dusk approaches a small Dublin suburb in the summer of 1984, mothers begin to call their children home. But on this warm evening, three children do not return from the dark and silent woods. When the police arrive, they find only one of the children, unable to recall a single detail of the previous hours.

Twenty years later, the found boy, Rob Ryan, is a detective on the Dublin Murder Squad and keeps his past a secret. But when a 12-year-old girl is found murdered in the same woods, he and Detective Cassie Maddox find themselves investigating a case chillingly similar to the previous unsolved mystery.

Barbara says: "A near-flawless audiobook (but for one thing...)"

She is 20, beautiful, dirt-poor, and hoping for a better life for her infant daughter when LuAnn Tyler is offered the gift of a lifetime, a $100 million lottery jackpot. All she has to do is change her identity and leave the U.S. forever. It's an offer she dares to refuse...until violence forces her hand and thrusts her into a harrowing game of high-stakes, big-money subterfuge. It's a price she won't fully pay...until she does the unthinkable and breaks the promise that made her rich.

Stephen says: "This was the worst narration I have ever heard!"
"Good but not up to usual Baldacci standards."

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

Yes. It is a good listen and kept me interested throughout.

How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?

Story was a little far fetched. Someone being able to fix that many lotteries without detection does not seem plausible.

What aspect of Francis Cassidy’s performance would you have changed?

    Performance was fine.

If this book were a movie would you go see it?

Probably wait till it was available on dvd or cable.

    Any additional comments?

The book was good. Baldacci is a great writer. I didn't feel it was as good as most of his other books.
