Meriel Schellden knows that marrying Craig McTiernay will strengthen the ties between their clans. She insists she is motivated by duty and responsibility, nothing more. But when a mere formality becomes a far from platonic kiss, Meriel must question where her true intentions lie. Though Meriel entices him far more than she realizes, Craig's commitments have always kept his passions restrained. But no sense of duty to his clan can make Craig forget the way Meriel's touch left him teased, tantalized, and desperate for more.

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

The narrator sounded like she had a speech impediment and her tone was monotonous for approximately 60% of the book. She didn't liven up until near the end. It made the listening unbearable.

Who was your favorite character and why?

The leading lady was definitely my favorite character.

How could the performance have been better?

I did not enjoy the narrator AT ALL.

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

I thought that the story was awesome. The characters had a lot of charm and wit. I will probably try to purchase the book and read it. I just didn't enjoy the audiobook because of the narrator.

But the aftermath of his unspeakable torture preys on his damaged mind, while the wolf inside him roars for vengeance and carnage. In the days leading up to the full moon, can MacRieve rein in his beast, even when he encounters his mate - a vexingly impossible female unlike anything he'd ever dreamed for himself?

    Story

I have listened to every book in this series and I think this one may just be the best so far. I have been waiting with baited breath for the stories of Will and Munroe and this one did not disappoint. The chemistry between Will and Chloe was fantastic. The story was in turns witty, fun, engaging, sweet and very romantic. And the two of them were totally believable together.

The narrator and the way he performed the characters was the icing on the cake. I loved the way that he made Will and Munroe sound so much alike yet just slightly different enough from each other that I could tell when he was doing one character versus the other. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and the performance of the narrator and I can't wait to hear from Munroe in the next book. That little excerpt at the end left me chomping at the bit.

Acclaimed for her richly imagined paranormal romances, Kendra Leigh Castle begins her Dark Dynasties series with this sizzling tale. Shapeshifting vampire Tynan MacGillivray has been ordered to find a human seer who can give his clan the upper hand in a devastating war. So he tracks down Lily Quinn, and together they discover a new world of danger, sensuality, and powers that cannot be controlled.

    Story

I really enjoyed this book and when it was done, I immediately wanted to hear more. The only reason that it did not get 5 stars from me was that the story itself became a little bit plodding right through the middle. But overall, it was a great story and a great listen....not the typical vampire story redone. There were fresh elements, but it stuck close enough to the "normal" vampire lore to be recognizable. There was, surprisingly, a lot of suspense and the combination of the author and narrator kept me in it until the very end.
