I was hoping for an updated version of Tom Clancy's Red Storm Rising. That book was gripping all the way. This one plods and drags endlessly.
Reacher finally meets "The Voice" and in the end it's a throw away. A potential daughter that looks and thinks like him and it ends with a fizzle. The main antagonists go away without impact. This storyline had so much potential, but it seemed that Lee Child , himself, just lost interest and ended it.
Awful narration. HIRE SCOTT BRICK!
Random voices...all bad...all off.
After 200+ hours I,d like to see some dramatic catacysmic climax, but all we get is the sudden deaths of any characters you'd give a damn about.
This was not a history of Blackwater. It is simply a thinly veiled left wing spewing of hatred. I am sure that Blackwater is many things, good and bad. This severely imbalanced book was like a 14 hour MSNBC Keith Olberman tirade against conservatives and Christians.
I enjoyed When The Wind Blows and The Lake House and was eager to see the story of Max,her babies, and her flock unfurl further.I was terribly disappointed when most of the characters and the story line changed radically. This story was dull and predictable in setting up sequels but I don't think anyone will care.I know I don't.
