During an intimate dinner party, a cat burglar breaks into the home of A-list actor Marcus Dowling. When his wife walks in on the thief, the situation quickly teeters out of control, leaving an empty safe and a lifeless body.

I'm a huge Patterson fan -- and I (mostly)enjoyed the Alex Cross series -- but one of the things I loved about the Women's Murder Club was that it was NOT Alex Cross-ish -- until now. The 9th Judgment is completely unfaithful to the Women's Murder Club characters -- in fact it seems completely unconcerned with their development at all. The story is a recycled Alex Cross serial killer plot filled with the usual contrived, predictable features. Yuck. Not recommended unless you have nothing else available in your queue.
