Over the last 20 years at Amen Clinics, Dr. Amen has performed more than 70,000 brain scans on patients from 90 different countries. His brain imaging work has taught him that our brains typically become less active with age and we become more vulnerable to memory problems and depression. Yet, one of the most exciting lessons he has learned is that with a little forethought and a brain-smart plan, you can slow, or even reverse, the aging process in the brain.

What didn’t you like about Marc Cashman’s performance?

    Marc Cashman's elocution was perfect.

The Audible books I enjoy are at least partially due to the performance drawing me in, making me feel like I am welcomed into the warmth of the content (regardless of how boring the content may be). I felt like this particular reading was the human equivalent of an automated reading machine, my apologies to Mr. Cashman.

Was Use Your Brain to Change Your Age worth the listening time?

I have previously read similar material from Dr. Amen and it is primarily clinical in nature. I still enjoy it because I feel I can take away some useful information.

  • The Art of War [Blackstone Version]

For more than two thousand years, The Art of War has stood as a cornerstone of Chinese culture, a lucid epigrammatic text that reveals as much about human psychology, politics, and economics as it does about battlefield strategy. The influence of Sun-Tzu's text has grown tremendously in the West in recent years, with military leaders, politicians, and corporate executives alike finding valuable insight in these ancient words.

Have you listened to any of Lorna Raver and Ray Porter ’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

    The readers did fine.

    Any additional comments?

I didn't realize that the "Art of War" was a mere 10% of this book. Is this a book that people rave over and do not actually read? The book was approximately 90% analysis. -- I wanted to enjoy this book, I could not.
