Stranger in a Strange Land tells the story of Valentine Michael Smith, an earthling born and educated on Mars, who arrives on Earth with superhuman powers and a total ignorance of the mores of man. Smith is destined to become a freak, a media commodity, a scam artist, a searcher, and finally, a messiah.

I read this book when it ws first released and enjoyed it hugely. With great anticipation I downloaded the audio book, after all these years, to revisit this classic of science fiction. This is a dangerous thing! After all, I had cherished the original text in my memory and personally coloured all the charaters in the story. All too often (like seeing the film of a favourite book on the silver screen) this can be disappointing.
This audio reading does not disappoint! Of course the book itself is wonderful, imaginative and timeless but it is greatly enhanced by the way it is narrated. Highly recommended. In fact I will search out other books by this narrator!

If you like music, and want to make rapid progress without any formal knowledge of language learning, Earworms mbt© Rapid Spanish is the course for you. Volume 1 was your survival kit of essential words and phrases to get you by on your trip abroad. Volume 2 will have you talking about yourself, past, present and future, chatting, and even flirting!

An interesting and sneaky way to support a language learning strategy. Here though, instead of serious concentration on grammar or the absorbtion of new words, you simply relax and get on with something else while the audio book (which is set to ambient music) plays on in the background. Needs many listenings to make an impact but the phrases and conversations seem to enter into memory at a subconscious level.

A warm and amusing listen. Characters are chosen from reliable archetypes so you won't be too mentally challenged. Ideal for that journey or for listening to while busy with something else.

What you already know and speak about can become an entire saleable product line with little time, money, or effort, based on one manuscript. You may be overwhelmed or hesitant about electronically published products. Or you may be stuck on how best to leverage what you already have. So many choices, so many ideas, so little time, so much confusion.

I was baffled by this audio book. I am an author and interested in perhaps using my talents to produce an ebook in line with my specialist knowledge. That's why I bought this audio book but unfortunately the speaker talks in some kind of strange geek speak that I do not understand. No hard facts are supplied and no real advice about making a success of publishing in ebook format. Just seems to be a telephone type ego trip. Plenty of this type of thing on the internet but you only get suckered once (but given the nunbers on the internet thats all you need). I suppose thats the whole point about this kind of sales claptrap.

To make the journey into The Power of Now you need to leave your analytical mind and its false created self, the ego, behind. Access to the Now is everywhere - in the body, the silence, and the space all around you. These are the keys to enter a state of inner peace.

Here is an example of a rare commodity in these busy media stuffed times - the simple truth about our human nature. It comes with no complex programme, guru to worship or god to pray to. Just the basic facts about what to do if you want to wake from the normal hypnosis of daily life and make a contribution to the development of both individual and global consciousness.
