David Foster Wallace...what a strange dude he was. If you like books that jump around from character to character and year to year then you will really like this. I generally like that format but for me there was a little too much, 'wait what's going on?' with each jump. The narrator is very good though.
I don't know what it was but I really didn't like this Davenport book. I never could quite get into the story, which was not very compelling.
Thanks Charlaine Harris for ending this series and leaving a horrible taste in my mouth. Did you even try when you wrote this book? I mean it's horrible. I guess she's just raking in that HBO money and doesn't need to worry about her pesky book fans. Nobody who's read every book in the series will be able to pass on reading the 13th and final book but just be warned...you will hate it because it's simply not good.
I love Will Trent and Karin Slaughter. Could someone please turn these books into movies??? I think Will Trent is such a dynamic character and Slaughter keeps revealing more and more about him with every book she writes. Can't wait to see what Will Trent does next!
I was pretty disappointed in this follow up to Firefly Lane. Of course the book was entertaining and I guess I enjoyed it but I really didn't like who the characters had become in this book. I guess that was the point but I didn't like them after they arced either.
I actually went to Barnes and Noble to look at the actual ending of this book to make sure there wasn't something wrong with audible download. Towards the end everything fell apart...large gaping holes in the story line and lots of questions unanswered and not in a good way. I loved everything about all of the characters and was so interested in what happened to them and it never pays off. The author goes right up to the edge of the cliff but never jumps off....ugh so frustrating.
Had read Gatsby in high school and listened to Tim Robbins' narration but wanted to celebrate the book with Gyllenhaal's narration before the movie came out and of course it didn't disappoint. The voice didn't sound like Jake Gyllenhaal to me but it was still really good.
This series has gone from good to horrible. I really didn't like this book and almost stopped listening with only about an hour left which is not like me. I don't know...this was just a bad story. It was so boring and I'm really sick of Michael Munroe and Taylor Stevens' writing.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book about the life of 4 friends. It's a classic character driven novel that has a cast of really likable characters. What could be better?
Nothing happens to Gideon and Ava in this third edition of the series and because nothing really happens Sylvia Day decides to tell everyone at the end that the story isn't finished and there's going to be another book. I thought that was lame. Make me want another book because I can't wait to see what's going to happen next, not because nothing happened in the previous book and you couldn't get through the story effectively.
This is a rip-off of the Hunger Games - I mean it's similar in so many ways but completely different at the same time. I thought it was entertaining.
