Hungar Games is an amazing book, Catching Fire is almost as good and Mocking Jay is seriously lacking. It feels like the author and the narrator were just trying to get to the end...any way they could. Still worth making it through all three books.
I like this LD installment because it flashes back to Lucas as a beat cop on the verge of making detective. Don't worry...he's just as cocky and self-assured as a youngster but he keeps it to himself more than present day Davenport.
All I have to say is...this one is twisted. The two "bad guys" are the most hilarious duo.
I liked hearing this story in Zelda's voice so I enjoyed this book. I'm partial to historical novels so this was right up my alley. I have luke warm feelings for the book...I'm glad I listened but am not screaming around town about it.
Ugh...what a disappoint. A colleague of mine recommended it so I gave it a try and I really didn't like it. The prose was irritating and self-serving. The end was so stupid. The whole book is character development and I didn't feel connected to any of them. Don't waste your time with this one.
This was my favorite listen of the year. The characters were so well-done and the story kept me interested from start to finish...and it's around 30 hours. I highly recommend this book. I loved it, absolutely loved it.
This is nothing special but interesting enough. Sometimes I'm in the mood for a lawyer/courtroom drama so this fit that bill.
I don't know what it was but I really didn't like this Davenport book. I never could quite get into the story, which was not very compelling.
Thanks Charlaine Harris for ending this series and leaving a horrible taste in my mouth. Did you even try when you wrote this book? I mean it's horrible. I guess she's just raking in that HBO money and doesn't need to worry about her pesky book fans. Nobody who's read every book in the series will be able to pass on reading the 13th and final book but just be warned...you will hate it because it's simply not good.
I love Will Trent and Karin Slaughter. Could someone please turn these books into movies??? I think Will Trent is such a dynamic character and Slaughter keeps revealing more and more about him with every book she writes. Can't wait to see what Will Trent does next!
I was pretty disappointed in this follow up to Firefly Lane. Of course the book was entertaining and I guess I enjoyed it but I really didn't like who the characters had become in this book. I guess that was the point but I didn't like them after they arced either.
