okay, look it IS only 30 minutes, so you shouldnt expect to become a master...
if you have never read anything on body language and are looking for an intro, then this would be great. tony wrighton is a great narrator whose personality always shines through in his books. i really like him, and he is interesting and humourous to listen to.
i saw a recommendation for "the definitive book of body language" by alan and barbara pease.
having read both this title and Lillian Glass' "I know what you're thinking" i would highly recommend the latter, as i think it is more on the money. cant see the other reviews at the moment, so (reviewer!): check it out - its really good. : )
no bs. sure, a lot of what i have read and heard before, but this is concise and helpful.
story only 3 *s because it isnt a story.
i wouldnt change anything. there is no need to convolute or elongate the message and this ab does what it says without procrastination.
narrating himself. he is a great reader and great to listen to which is of huge importance in an ab, as you know.
no, not the type of ab.
its all those other wasteful "tips and tricks" vanquished as it is a pragmatic, to the point and very salient listen.
comparisons are always going to be made between one good dog and the aforementioned book in the title.
this was a very good book, but in my opinion the art of racing in the rain is much better.
still a good listen though: well narrated and a good story. : )
this is the best book i have ever read/heard.
garth stein must have been a golden retriever in a previous life because he has an amazing ability to give enzo the exact "person(dog)ality" you would expect him to have.
i personally love animals and have difficulty believing anyone bar the extremely sensitive would have any issues with this book and would (and have been!) recommend this to any listener without hesitation.
i loved it - definitely two dewclaws up from me.
i have a few of glenn harrolds recordings and have bought this not only because i think it will benefit me,
but mostly to give you a tip you may find handy!
i have a recording called "cat napper" that really helps me get to sleep, but the end of it intentionally wakes you up!
so what i have done is this: go into itunes (hopefully this is what you have?) and right click on the recording and then choose the "options" tab. from here, you can set the end time to before the part that wakes you up!

i read a review saying that this was all a rehash of a previous one...
i didnt actually have that previous one so thought i would be safe, but it turns out this draws largely from the one i had, so he is not only doubling up, but in my mind has reduced my faith in him.
this rehashing feels akin to going to see a stand up comedian and loving him and then seeing him again a year or so later with great expectations only to witness the very same performance...
IMO its a bit diminishing to the fantastic work of dr.dyer.
what i dont agree with is the egotistic comment. merely stating facts about oneself with humility is in no way egotistical in the sense of personal glorification. anyone who has heard dr.dyer speak should know that he is far from an egomaniac, as what he says is closer to the very antithesis of egotism!
okay, so in the last 6 months or so, the place i work had new guys start all within a short period of time who know each other from their last job and have formed a clique of "certified assholes" who have caused a huge dichotomy and made our dept a very negative environment with their bullying and cynical ways.
hence, the purchase of this book.
the good thing about this book is that he describes characteristics about these assholes perfectly - which was good for a laugh as i watched them do exactly as the narrator said...
the bad thing is that after all this, you never really get told how to counter them apart from either "going with the flow" or resorting to 'tit for tat' methods of winning "small battles" to gradually undermine them.
personally, i much prefer to use only positive methods to achieve desired things in life and disagree with these negative uses of thought energy.
i wouldnt recommend this book unless you are just looking to affirm your suspicions about the assholes at work!
one thing that makes this book unique is the rather annoying usage of the word: "expecially" every 3 minutes; and this is an audiobook, so it cant be dismissed as a typo!!

this is an excellent and most positive influence for anyone who likes the self development genre, as i do.
i find it very 'hit and miss' when buying books of this kind, and consider this a definite "hit" as it is not simply a pastiche like others i have bought and read.
i put this on as part of a playlist to go to sleep to and really do feel it has a beneficial effect.
i hope this encourages other like minds to give it a go and that it helps as much as i feel it has!
I really liked this and I really like the way Dr Dyer speaks.
it is a very positive lecture and this being my first encounter with Dyer, am impressed enough to now buy his "10 Secrets for Success and Inner Peace..." book.
i dont have his "extra mile..." one, so will not be risking purchasing the same material twice, as another reviewer has said. im really looking forward to it. : )
