Immediately after hearing these words, uttered to her by an old Romanian woman bleeding to death in the street, detective Eve Dallas begins to notice that her latest case has come with a number of interesting side-effects: visions of the deceased, instant familiarity with rooms she’s never seen before, and fluency in Russian.

Yuriko says: "A fun addition to the series"
    "Too short"
    Overall

I love JD Robb. I love the Eve Dallas characters. Of course, this would be a novella, not a book. It is that short, and very predictable. A nice filler between the last and the next one. I kinda think that Eve should have hung on to her gift, since we have already traipsed into the supernatural, but I guess that would take the funout of future crimes. A new twist on Eve's experiences. After 35+ books, it is hard not to become too formulaic.

I enjoyed the story although the narration took me a while to get into. If you like historical romances this was fine. If you are looking for a steamy romance novel… This is probably not your best choice.

When Findley McKenna returns after his battle with the English to offer Maggy Boyle a home amongst his clan, he finds only death and destruction instead of the young widow who has stolen his heart. With only a prayer, his Highlander heart, and a bit of bloodied plaid to cling to, Findley will crawl through hell if he must, in order to find Maggy and her sons and avenge the massacre before him.

Rich in detail, but a little longer than necessary to get the story told. It took me a while to warm up to the narrator, but by the end I really enjoyed it.

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

Yes. This story tied up a lot of loose ends that were left dangling in other story lines.

How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?

The pace was a bit slow at times. There was a lot of time spent tracking down key suspect in story. I would have liked the character relationship between Gallo and Katherine developed more.

Have you listened to any of Jennifer Van Dyck’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

    I enjoyed it.

Was Bonnie worth the listening time?

Yes. Finally...we know how and why and the who of Bonnie's death.

    Any additional comments?

Not what I had expected for the final story. It was a bit anticlimactic. The bad guys from all other stories gave the impression that something much different (and more horrible) happened to Bonnie.

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

Enjoyable, but not fulfilling in that you felt like something was resolved or that you are anxiously awaiting the next one

What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?

This story seemed to me more of a bridge between stories rather than a story in itself. Didn't get much of any other character except Frye. I enjoy Anna. Wanted more of her relationships developed. Not much with David, Max, Stephen, Culebra, or her family...just not much.

What about Dina Pearlman’s performance did you like?

I like the narrator. The performance was not distracting.

Was Crossroads worth the listening time?

    Yes

    Any additional comments?

I look forward to more Anna Strong, but hope the next novel has more depth.

"My love, speak to me. Tell me everything.” Neferet went to Kalona, kneeling before him, stroking the soft, dark wings that unfurled loosely around the immortal. “What would you have me say?” He didn’t meet her eyes. “Zoey lives.” Neferet’s voice was flat, cold, lifeless.“She does.”“Then you owe me the subservience of your immortal soul.” She started to walk away from him.“Where are you going? What will happen next?”

    "Almost"
    Overall

I anxiously awaited this installment and felt it left me hanging just a bit too much. I didn't get enough of Aphrodite and Darius this time. The return of Neferet was a little too easy, and are Zoe and Stark just a little too oblivious of Kolona's possession? Of course, this won't keep me from watching the calendar for November's installment. I enjoyed it, just felt the answers to many things were very pat. Of course, I am a grown up reading young adult fiction-if I wanted reality I should have tried a different genre.

If you liked the others, you will enjoy this one, too. Just not much intrigue.
