How God is described today strikes many as mean, primitive, backwards, illogical, tribal, and at odds with the frontiers of science. At the same time, many intuitively feel a sense of reverence and awe in the world. Can we find a new way to talk about God? Pastor and New York Times best-selling author Rob Bell shows how traditional ideas have grown stale and dysfunctional and reveals a new path for how to return vitality and vibrancy to how we understand God.

Jack Torrance's new job at the Overlook Hotel is the perfect chance for a fresh start. As the off-season caretaker at the atmospheric old hotel, he'll have plenty of time to spend reconnecting with his family and working on his writing. But as the harsh winter weather sets in, the idyllic location feels ever more remote...and more sinister. And the only one to notice the strange and terrible forces gathering around the Overlook is Danny Torrance, a uniquely gifted five-year-old.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I already have recommended this book to several people. If you like twisted, creepy, and yet brilliant writing this book is for you.

What did you like best about this story?

    The character development was masterful!

How could the performance have been better?

The narrator was terrible. He was dry and monotone through most of the book. It wasn't until the last quarter of the book that I could pick upon his subtle voice inflections for different characters. Although his voice for Crazy Jack Torrence was pretty good.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I have read, and listened to a lot of so called scary books. This is the first book I have ever actually got a little creeped out.

    Any additional comments?

Fantastic book! Weak narration, but worth the listen.

The book is absolute garbage it is idiotic, and just ridiculous. It is outrageous yet boring. Andrews is Masterful the author is dreadful.

    Not at all!

Have you listened to any of Macleod Andrews’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

This book is worth the credit just to hear what a masterful job Macleod Andrews does. He is by far the best narrator I have heard.

If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from The Knowledge of Good & Evil?

The scenes where he goes through heaven and hell are absolutely ludicrous.

Nations were slaughtered, cities were erased from existence, and defending armies were crushed into oblivion. In weeks, all life stood on the verge of extinction. But the end did not come. Instead the black horde vanished, leaving terrified survivors... and rumors. As the centuries passed the holocaust faded into legend, and finally myth. I listend to about two hours of this crap, and that is all I could handle. It seems like an interesting concept, but it was boring on every level. If you grew up in the 60's it may appeal to you. I hated the fact that there was very little dialogue, but rather the author droned on and on about every minute detail. I hate that style of writing.
