This is the audiobook that had me going back searching for more "urban" themed audiobooks! I love the characters and their hustle! Although the book has "graphic" language, it suited the situation and the type of environments the characters were coming from. I truly enjoyed listening to it and by the end, I wasn't disappointed and felt it was money well spent!
"The Land" is an awesome listen. I couldn't get enough and the characters were so believable. The language for that timeframe was so befitting. Sometimes it's kind of hard hearing the "n" word being used, but because of the time in which this book took place it didn't seem at all offensive. I think the author did an amazing job and the book was exceptional from top to bottom. This book made me laugh, want to cry, kick and scream and at times it made me want to stand up and cheer! I will definitely be keeping this one close at hand.
I must be honest, I had to keep starting this over and over in order to finally get into it. But once I did it picked up fast and held my attention. I'm still debating on whether or not I would listen to it again but I would certainly recommend it because it is a very good and interesting story!
After a while I just wanted the book to end! It seemed like it just kept going and going and going with no end in sight. I was very disappointed by the entire story line and after a while it was just getting complicated to try and keep you.
To be honest, I'm not sure whether or not I liked this one. What I did like is that it's different and the story line is not your typical. But there was so much going back and forth between characters and all that I often got confused and would have to play catch up in my mind or rewind again to figure out who was who and doing what to who. Perhaps the best word to describe it is "interesting." But I'm not quite sure if I would want to listen to it again; however, it wasn't awful.
The plus is the narrator, the narrator was excellent and my hat is off to the narrator! Kudos!
I was truly upset when this audiobook ended! I was hoping for just a few more minutes of Keyshia and Clyde! The story was a really good and it was different. Not all what I expected and I was pleasantly surprised. I will surely listen to this one again. Now, I'm just awaiting what comes next from Treasure E. Blue!
I would definitely suggest checking this audiobook out! It was very entertaining and made you want to sit in your car just a little bit longer to see what was going to happen next. The characters were very interesting and it wasn't too predictable. Overall, a very good listen!
This audiobook had me not wanting to get out of my car once I got to my destination. Some of the characters were straight ruthless and all about self but it's the drama that keeps you coming back for more. Loved, loved, loved the fact that the women were plus-sized; however, carried themselves with confidence and believed themselves to be big, beautiful and sexy. It was a nice change to know that the main characters didn't have to be model thin to be sought after by gorgeous, sexy and successful men and were successful themselves. I would definitely listen to this again and again!
This was a fantastic listen! Man, it was not at all what I expected but I mean that in a good way. The narration was excellent, the characters were saucy and had much spice and it was just overall an extremely well written book and it was an easy listen. I will certainly keep this in my rotation of audiobooks!
This was a pretty good listen! Based on one of the reviews I started not to purchase because I thought it wouldn't be as good as the first but I was pleasantly surprised as there were some pretty good twists and turns in there that I wasn't suspecting. Sometimes I wish the narrators voice was a bit deeper for portraying the male voices or that a male was reading for the male parts but overall I would say it was well worth the money.
