After the death of her parents, chasing tornadoes is the only thing that makes Lauren feel alive. Each storm gives her the adrenaline rush she craves, but it can't make her forget Tanner, the country boy she left behind in Oklahoma. When a funeral brings Lauren back to Sunset Plains, she decides to face Tanner in a desperate attempt to finally let go of her past.

Twisters and Textbooks was a nice, easy listen. It was a tasteful, solidl romance coming in at a little over two and a half hours. The twister twist was exciting and I liked the characters of Lauren and Tanner. This is the first audiobook I've listened to by Lindzee Armstrong and I'd like to hear more in this series.

I thought Stacey Glemboski's narration was terrific. She's proven to be a wonderful voice actor with a nice tone and inflections. I'd listen to anything she reads.

Forbidden Island was an exciting fast-paced listen. I enjoyed the mystique of the story with the Sentinelese in the rainforest. I loved the characters of Ranger Rowan and Sasha as well as the others.

This is I think the second audiobook I've listened to by Jeremy Robinson and I find his writing fresh and somewhat edge of your seat. Action-packed. I think the narration by Jeffrey Kafer was top-notch. He has a sort of mysterious voice with excellent inflections. It was his performance that made this book such a good listen.

I received this audiobook for free through Audiobook Boom for my unbiased review.

Note: This is the second review I've written on this title. There's a glitch that needs to be fixed with Audible. Not the first time this has happened to me.

Sit or lay in a comfortable, quiet place. Breathe in through your nose and fill your diaphragm with oxygen. Relax your nostrils. Relax your throat and tongue. Allow the air to flow freely into your abdomen. Look down at your belly and watch it fill and empty. With awareness, choose to breathe through your belly, rather than up into your chest and shoulders. Close your eyes and continue breathing in and out for at least 10 breaths. Don't hurry or slow your breath. Quiet your mind and just breathe at a comfortable pace.

Is your gut impacting your health? Find out if your gut is responsible for inflammation and a host of medical issues, from anxiety to autoimmune disorders. If you have an unhealthy gut, chances are you frequently suffer from heartburn, constipation, bloating, abdominal pain, and diarrhea. These symptoms occur frequently in people who have gut issues. But the good news is they can all be treated. Many people tend to treat the symptoms of an unhealthy gut, rather than trying to boost the health of the gut in the first place.

Healthy Gut was a great listen for me. I'm glad I was able to listen to it. This is something I'd heard of before but not enough info. Now I know much more. Interestingly, since I had my gall bladder removed I've had nothing but issues with my tummy. As a matter of fact, I've been misdiagnosed with numerous things that were later found to be incorrect. I think there really is something to the leaky gut thing. If it hadn't been for this book, I may not have been clued in.

Kimberly S. Hobscheid's narration was terrific. She had a nice, soothing voice yet was able to pass along the information in a professional manner. Great combination of author/reader.

The name's Daniels, Jack Daniels - just like the whiskey you know. I'm a private detective. And I can't help butting my nose into other people's business. It's what I do. You get used to it. It becomes a way of life almost. After a while it comes natural to you, automatic, like breathing, or eating, although not quite as enjoyable. It's a habit that I just can't break. I just can't help it. But sometimes it can lead you into trouble....

The Candy Man was a fun listen. It's a noir-ish detective story based on the character Jack Daniels. His character is full-bodied and the story is solid although short. I enjoyed it. Good writing by John holt.

Joe Voegler's voice was great for Jack Daniels. He had a lot of characterization and voice inflections. He sounded like the real deal.

An overall good combination with story and reader.

Have you ever noticed that things aren't always what they seem? Life will always throw you a curved ball when you least expect it. We see only what we expect to see, and sometimes we could be in for a big surprise. And I sure got a surprise I can tell you, in spades. A surprise that lead to blackmail and murder. That's when I really got...Trouble in Mind.

Trouble in Mind was a good private detective noir-ish short story. I liked Jack Daniels as he was the typical gum shoe type. Sure the story was somewhat predictable but that's what makes it fun. This is book three in the Jack Daniels P.I. novella Series and the first I've listened to. I'd listen to more of these.

Peter Borys's narration was great. He had the perfect noir-ish gum shoe voice for Jack. Overall this was a great listen.

Blackwater is a collection of two tales of horror and dark fantasy. In "Mercury Rain", a soldier fighting a new enemy learns the importance of holding on to his memories. "Blackwater", the title story of the collection, is an homage to Stephen King's short story, "Graveyard Shift", and it tells the tale of Paul Hawkins, a mine worker who disturbs something terrifying in the Blackwater Hills of Durham, Pennsylvania, in the summer of 1976.

I enjoyed these two stories. Both "Mercury Rain" and "Blackwater" were written by Christian Galacer who also wrote "Whiskey Devil". While I wasn't crazy about the latter, these two stories were very good. I think Blackwater was indeed the best story. It definitely had the creepy factor especially for me as I live in an old mining town where not only my family, but other locals go way back to the early days of the town's mines and history.

I feel that Christian Galacer is an author to watch. He has a good grasp on this type of storytelling.

J.M. Needham's performance was perfect. His narration skills are excellent and the combination of this author/reader is a great match.

I get this story and it's hard to imagine someone having to grow up in a situation like this but this story was hard to listen to. There was so much hate spewing from the father and I can't help but think it just carried down from his father before him. I couldn't stand to listen to the part about the dog. That was unbearable for me.

John York did a fine job narrating. He was gritty as I suppose was the only way to portray the father's hate.

Attempted murder gives a man his family back. It's everything he's ever wanted, but he can't forget what he did. And the longer he holds the secret, the more control he loses to the darkness whispering in his ear. It craves violence and can't be silenced forever. The line between truth and lies is disappearing. And with it, the difference between right and wrong.

House of Sand was an okay thriller. It had a good plot and good characters but at times it seemed redundant. There was definitely some weirdness with the fake internet profile and then the protagonist checking into the motel. It was a little violent towards the end with Ty. Overall the story was decent if not a little creepy.

I enjoyed the narrator and he had a nice voice. His performance was with trepidation and giving the listener a feel of edge of your seat. He had great voice inflections. The ticks, beeps, and sound effects I found distracting. I'm not sure what they represented.

When Axe Cooper is murdered while picking up Chinese takeout, he's pretty irritated about the loss of a good dinner, not to mention being dead. Not prepared to move on just yet, Axe decides to stick around and haunt his best friend Lily Chan while trying to figure out why anyone would kill a janitor. In the meantime, Axe is hired by The Ghost Post to track down recently deceased writers. As he learns more about his new phantom friends, Axe realizes that his murder is not an isolated event and that if he doesn't learn to fly like Superman, Lily could be next.

Lethal Takeout was an easy listen to settle into. The story was clean and entertaining not frightening. I really enjoyed the character of Axe as well as Lee and especially Shadow. I think that the listener/reader can immediately identify with the main character. This was neat, fun, and no gore which I loved.

This is Ghost Post Mysteries Book One written by Vered Ehsani therefore I look forward to more in the series. I can't wait to see what direction it takes next. Segue to the awesome narration...

Steven Jay Cohen's performance was outstanding. I think this is the first time I've listened to him and he has an amazing voice. His characterizations were perfect. He has a neat voice; very easy to listen to and calming.
