Very good introduction to the social media world. Well narrated and nice to listen to. However there are a lot of opinions and feelings there, I missed some more hard facts.
In any case, it makes you think.

I was always a bit scheptical about the theory of evolution.
This book goes methodically through the different aspects of the theory and the different claims against it, melting one by one.
Coyne does a great job explaining evolution and brings a lot of evidence from various sciences.

The only thing it does not explain in a sufficient way is the mathematical aspect which is only touched upon lightly.

The narration is generally very good, however, the narrator treats the creationists with contemps which does not fit the empathic writing of Coyle.


All in all - a very interesting book, well written.

Pimsleur have got it down to pure science.
The method works.
Just keep going and you will improve!

Kahneman explains the leading edge research in simple and beautiful language.
The narration is simply excellent and the feeling is that Kahneman himself reads the book (and enjoys every moment).
I had a lot of fund and learned a lot and it is comforting to see that psychology is finally getting in touch with reality.

Drucker zooms out of the day to day management challenges to review where this world is going. Very broad. Not centralizing just on business management.
Important information and points of view for any manager and any individual living at this historic time.

Yunus' theory bridges the gap between old capitalism, based on 19th century view of man as a rational profit making machine, to what science now knows about how we really work and about the damages of the old approach.
Yunus offers a real hope to establish a different type of economy with better fulfillment and joy to all, without getting carried to socialistic dreams, but rather in a very practical way.

Many questions still remain open, but this is the beginning of the road.

When Gandhi was asked what is his message to men he said: "my life is my message". The same applies to M.L. King. His story is so extraordinary that it tells itself. the message is in King's words and actions and trying to deduce rules from it is somewhat lacking.
The way this book is constructed is not as a sequential biography, but rather as separate episodes with a lot of interpretation (some good) in the middle.
I did not like the format. It is emphasized as it is an audiobook and it makes it more difficult and wearying to follow.

It is amazing how little humanity has changes in all this time. A must reading to understand our nature.

Inspiring book.
Though it is very long and VERY detailed, at times too detailed, it is likely that Lincoln, the man of facts and details would have liked it. It starts very slowly and takes time to get into the story, but again, it was probably very typical of Lincoln to be this way.
Recommended.

Dan Ariely, in his very direct and honest and amusing way presents his findings, all based on experiments. It is so simple clear and convincing that it is time people understand that the "Science of Economics" has to make a big shift.
Marketers know this for a long time, they just didn't tell the academic world...

Very good overview of the region and part of its history (mainly since the time of Muhammad). As I approached the modern time and the Arab-Israeli conflict (which makes up a big part of the second half), I noticed a lot of inaccuracies, things that were omitted and things that are misrepresented (like taking a most extreme event and preceding it with "for example"). I think the authors wishful thinking got mixed too much with the attempt to describe reality as they approached modern times. Still, it is worth reading, never as the only book on the subject, and with a critical approach.
