"Highly entertaining."
A fun read (listen) with action, humor and a romance waiting to happen. Luke Daniels plays the roles well and the story line gives a decent lesson on cultural mythologies. Oberon, (the dog) gives the comic relief....and is easily believable. I often look at my own dog and give her Oberon's attitude and light heartedness. Recommended.
"Sarcasm? anyone? anyone?"
I'm half way through the second book. It has a good story thus far, however it is literally dripping with sarcasm. Everything that comes out the tough guy hero is sarcastic which gets a little annoying. I will however continue to listen and most likely will continue the series.
Yes. I like his story line and most of his characters. His views on Heaven and Hell are interesting. However PLEASE ease up on the sarcasm....I understand the hero was dealt a bad hand in life, but its hard to imagine anyone holding a conversation with him for more than 5 seconds.
The narrator does fine job bringing the characters to life. He portrays the character well and has a strong knack for the accents.
"Great"
I've found all of the Dresden series to be highly entertaining. The action is intense and the dialog is at times cheesey but believable and actually realistic. The characters, mortal or otherwise are easy to relate to and are fun to interact with. Side Jobs has been a good read thus far and the "writer's comments" in between stories have been a way to relate to the author. I suggest any Dresden file to all readers.
