I actually finished this and it was sweet. I would probably give it 3.5 stars. The narrator was good but not great with southern accents. I am from the south and I can promise you, we don't sound so dumb.
I couldn't finish this one. It was so cheesy and the author's overuse of adverbs made me crazy. The narration was great.
The story was cheesy and cliche and the narrator sounded way too old to be the young character's age.
I didn't enjoy this as much as the first one, but it was still cute.
I did finish this book, so I guess that counts for something. The actual story was decent. The writing was not good, though. There was an over use of adverbs and that drove me insane. Lily was a very boring character. She is described as being feisty in the description, but she is not.
The narrator did a pretty good job with the men's voices, but his female voices were horrible. Lily sounded like an automaton.
I liked this sweet story. It was based on "insta-love," though, and I prefer a build up. The narrator was very good, except his voice for Matthew made him sound like a 65 year old man. That is my biggest pet peeve with narrators. I hate for young characters to sound old. I also didn't like his voice for Adam, Matthew's dad. He sounded 100 years old and like he was on death's door every second he spoke.
This book is, perhaps, the biggest disappointment of the year. Wallbanger is one if my top 3 reads of all time. This book was boring, crude, had a super annoying, unlikeable heroine, and had no chemistry between the H & h. With one hour left in the book, Viv was still wanting the cowboy. This read more like Chick Lit. The romance was lacking tremendously. I didn't care what happened to them by the end. :-( The narrator was pretty good. She is too breathy, though.
I know I am in the minority, but I just could not get into this book. The narration is great, but I felt zero chemistry between the characters. I also didn't really feel for them. DNF at chapter 12. :-(
I found this to be extremely boring. i couldn't even finish it. The main characters had no chemistry. I did not enjoy the narrator, either. Her voice was too old sounding and I hated how she changed to an accent every time she pronounced Nicole's parents names. Annoying.
I'm wondering if Jamie McGuire is a one hit wonder. Despite the pretty good narration, this was a DNF for me. The main characters had no chemistry and I was bored to death. I rolled my eyes a lot, especially at the whiny Cami.
The writing is so cliche and eye rolling! Ugh!! The male narrator was good, but the female sounded like someone plugged her nose. It was super annoying. DNF about half way through.
