Lady Minerva Sharpe has the perfect plan to thwart her grandmother’s demands: become engaged to a rogue! Surely Gran would rather release her inheritance than see her wed a scoundrel. And who better to play the part of Minerva’s would-be husband than wild barrister Giles Masters, the very inspiration for the handsome spy in the popular Gothic novels she writes? The memory of his passionate kiss on her nineteenth birthday has lingered in Minerva’s imagination, though she has no intention of really falling for such a rakehell, much less marrying him.

I really enjoyed this audio book, and I am picky. I thought the narrator did a great job with all the characters except for the 2 Americans. Good thing they weren't in the book too much. :-)

I liked this sweet story. It was based on "insta-love," though, and I prefer a build up. The narrator was very good, except his voice for Matthew made him sound like a 65 year old man. That is my biggest pet peeve with narrators. I hate for young characters to sound old. I also didn't like his voice for Adam, Matthew's dad. He sounded 100 years old and like he was on death's door every second he spoke.

When a phone call brings news that she’s inherited a beautiful old home in Mendocino, California from a long-forgotten aunt, she moves her entire life across the country to embark on what she sees as a great, romance-novel-worthy adventure. But romance novels always have a twist, don’t they? There’s a cowboy, one that ignites her loins. Because Cowboy Hank is totally loin-ignition worthy. But there’s also a librarian, Clark Barrow. And he calls her Vivian. Can tweed jackets and elbow patches compete with chaps and spurs?

This book is, perhaps, the biggest disappointment of the year. Wallbanger is one if my top 3 reads of all time. This book was boring, crude, had a super annoying, unlikeable heroine, and had no chemistry between the H & h. With one hour left in the book, Viv was still wanting the cowboy. This read more like Chick Lit. The romance was lacking tremendously. I didn't care what happened to them by the end. :-( The narrator was pretty good. She is too breathy, though.

I know I am in the minority, but I just could not get into this book. The narration is great, but I felt zero chemistry between the characters. I also didn't really feel for them. DNF at chapter 12. :-(

Was Vaughn a Special Agent for the FBI? I'm not sure. It wasn't mentioned enough in the story. This book was below average. I was bored to tears. Vaughn and Sydney didn't have much chemistry, either.

The narrator is average. Not my favorite, but she grows on you as the book goes on.

There’s nothing worse than living next door to your childhood nemesis, except maybe being forced to share your dream project with him, being blackmailed into going along with something that was just wrong on so many levels, and having your hot cocoa stolen by the person that drove you to drink it in the first place. As long as she has plenty of hot cocoa, a pair of pliers on hand and is able to resist Connor O’Neil’s bad boy charm then Rory James should be able to make it through this project with her sanity intact.

Cath is a Simon Snow fan. Okay, the whole world is a Simon Snow fan, but for Cath, being a fan is her life - and she's really good at it. She and her twin sister, Wren, ensconced themselves in the Simon Snow Series when they were just kids; it's what got them through their mother leaving. Reading. Rereading. Hanging out in Simon Snow forums, writing Simon Snow fan fiction, dressing up like the characters for every movie premiere. Cath's sister has mostly grown away from fandom, but Cath can't let go.
