This is a wonderful, wonderful book. The story unfolds like a flower. She has such a way with words; it's wonderful to listen to. The narrator is terrific as well and really captures the mid-west dialect of Nebraska. I've only read one other book by this author but I now plan on reading her others.
I tried to give this one a chance, but writing was so poor on this one I just couldn't listen to it.
The narrator was such a turnoff, I couldn't listen to this one. Waste of a credit.
Wonderful, wonderful, wonderul little collection of awesome stories. If you're a King fan, you won't be dissapointed.
I always listen to Roenfelt's books and looked forward to this one. Not one of his best, but still a fun read.
This book was very good and the narration was terrific, but some of the content was very difficult to listen to. However, having said that, I would recommend this book as it's a very good description of the terrible life of slaves in Jamaica.
I don't know what the other readers liked about this book but I gave up after about a third of it.
This is one of those books you hate to see come to an end. Beautifully written; couldn't put it down.
It might have been an awesome book but I couldn't stand more than 20 minutes of the narrator's voice.
I really REALLY wanted to like this book. I've read several Jesse Kellerman books in the past and enjoyed them all. That's why I eagerly downloaded this one. I'm not sure where the author was going, but it seemed to drag on and on and I finally gave up listening. It was downright painful. Also, I found the narrator's voice quite annoying. I'll be interested in reading what others have to say.
This book started out with a bang, but sort of meandered the rest of the way. The narrator got on nerves after awhile.
