Enjoyable, good, & scary.

I can't pick between them all, they are all necessary to the story

I have not, but I am impressed by his skill. Other people lack the skill that Mr. Wyman possesses, he does Z. A. Recht justice. More often then not, the person voicing the characters (along with the story) will determine how much the readers will enjoy and tolerate. Mr. Wyman does a phenominal job at giving each character his/her personality and voice throughout the story.

I laughed a few times at the wit and remarks made by Brewster and some others, mainly Brewster though.

In the past three months I've read about five or six other zombie books (okay, I've listened). Without a doubt The Morning Star Strain series is one of the best. So good, I'm going to post it to my facebook as a recommended read. Once you get past Suez the real fun and danger begins.

You follow General Sherman and Dr. Dimillio on their race for a vaccination; that's right, not a cure, but a vaccination. As if the dead aren't enough they are plagued by raiders and over-zealous bureaucratic agents. Along the way they meet interesting and courageous people. General Sherman goes so far as to help a small town fight off a horde of infected, as well as raiders who continuously harass the quiet and tired people.

I’ve read books 1 and 2, eagerly anticipating book 3.

I've never read the book.

Oh god yes! He did a good job of throwing me off. I did not know who the psychopath was until the end. I am so glad it was not one of those cliche books where the killer is revealed so early on in the story that continuing seems pointless. I had to find out who this crazy man was and hoping that Sloan would not retire. They make a great pair.

Love it. He did an awesome job. I loved the variations in voices and he read as if he wrote the book himself. He was intimate with the characters and the way he read made me feel as if I was there. It was so vivid and well done. GREAT JOB!!!

Yes. When Lucas woke up the next morning and Weather was already there asleep. She loves him so much.

Yes, authors who can paint a story using your imagination are very talented, which Jonathan Maberry is. The story of the brothers, love, friendship, death, betrayal, and heroism is in this book. It's always hard when a favorite character of yours dies, but if you can accept it by the end of the book you know the author has done a phenomenal job.

The story was so well written and engrossing. The author does a very good job of using your imagination to scare you, forcing you to close all doors, and become weary of the things that go bump in the night. It's safer to listen to this story when there is light out, this way, you'll have enough time to prepare yourself for when day turns into night and your imagination starts to take over.

Tom is my favorite character. So wise and intelligent, way beyond his years. He protects those he loves, and has a way about himself that many will come to admire and envy. His character is honorable, admirable, and entertaining.

I did, I had to hear the book through to the end.

Take this chance. If all you have is one credit or a few dollars, this is worth the buy. No regrets (at least not from me). If you want a good zombie book, one that will stir your imagination and scare you, then this is the book for you.

Yes, I think I was most scared listening to diary of the little boy that begins every chapter. Chilling if you ask me. Listening to almost any Kathy Mallory novel is time well spent. If you want a sociopathic, crazy, adept, cunning, skilled, cop with hero-like qualities than the Detective Mallory novels are for you.

To look up Williams' Syndrome. I really liked Cocoa.

Probably not. I Usually do not listen to stories I've already heard. A very good story though.

Dr. Apollo. She was a calculated as Mallory. Refreshing to have Mallory, even if her role is secondary, play her part in the background. The story would not be the same without Riker. You also learn his first name in the story.

Dialogue, scarier, story line.

Reflected on his writing and how to appeal to his audience. Maybe refer to some zombie movies or other zombie books for guidance; try to identify what the audience really needs.

For the most part he was good, though in the beginning I was concerned. Gets better in part II. But, by then you continue listening because you've paid for the book.

Surprisingly, the characters were okay.

I like the character development, it gives context to the actions of the characters. I see why Ann is driven, what happened to her family was her fault. She's so gun-ho she sent her family to their deaths and she blames the zombie for her ignorance.

This book was okay, very SCI-FI. This wasn't as scary as I was hoping. But, good for someone breaking into the genre. If you're someone breaking into the zombie genre this is a good book to start with. This is not as developed as some others like the Morning Star Strain or Day by Day Armageddon. This is why it's good for beginning listeners of the zombie genre. Build yourself up to books that will keep you awake, and make you wish you'd only listen when there was light out.

Scary, Thrilling, and unexpected

Pretty good zombie story. I like zombie stories that stick more to the George Romero version of zombies; you'll see what I'm talking about. I don't want to spoil the story for anyone.

I was getting annoyed with Danny and her need for law and order at a time when the world was becoming infested with zombies. If you are in a world plagued with man-eating zombies I don't think breaking into a store is going to get you jail time. She was the hero and I really enjoyed the cast. I didn't want to stop listening because I too was interested in whether or not she'd find Kelly.

There were some scary moments.

I would. Ed Moore and Michael Barnes are two of the strongest characters.

The realism and adventure.

At the end I was upset because of the Jonestown replication. It was a good book (excluding that).

Very good book, scary as well. Had some very strong characters. I liked how the different groups (five in all) adapted and survived through all the chaos. I listened to the story and could envision events unfolding like the story. Michael Barnes was my favorite character at first, but you'll find out why that changed (it's at the end). Ed Harris added another quality and dimension to the story. Strong leader.

The book was adventurous and gripping. I liked that it didn't take place in one location or state (like Texas, from other zombie books). The landscape is throughout America and you listen as different groups of people of very different backgrounds survive in this environment.

Kathleen Mallory of course, though Charles came off pretty strong (and oblivious) at times.

I can't remember, but she is quite talented. Listening to some decent narrators I've forgotten that others possess talents unrivaled. The ability to transform the story into a moving picture. Laural Merlington is one of them.

If you’re familiar with the Detective Mallory serious then you’ll be able to follow along. I read a previous review warning that Mallory takes more a supportive character role in this book and it’s somewhat true. It seemed like she was more of a cameo than the protagonist. The book is about her and the loss of her mother. The revenge seemed so unrealistic, like everything was staged. In previous novels and books events role seamlessly to the point the reader believes that the occurrences couldn’t be anything, but natural. It was like Mallory showed up the lights went out, and she disappeared. If the part of the book was about Mallory you expected her to do something and then disappear.

I’m a Kathleen Mallory supporter because she has this superhero quality about her. She doesn’t take crap from anyone and is willing to back it up with action. She’s intelligent and a quick-thinker. Her critical thinking and reasoning abilities create suspense and intellect. She defends the weak, confused, and sometimes stupid. She always gets her target. This is the Kathleen Mallory I enjoy reading about.

It was a very good short story, wasn't scary or creepy. Now the Dune (second story in) was creepy and eerie. The judge was just as creepy as the story.

The Judge, he was creepy and I could imagine a senile old judge of the South who is both terrified and mesmerized by what is occurring out on that little island. That little wasteland off of the shore. In the end you wonder, what exactly is the judge.

The intellect and courage of Rachel and Blakie, they were too smart for their ages. To moving and confident in their abilities to withstand all that was happening to them.

Ever since Lisey's Story I've been drawn to Stephen King. This book is really a two-part short story list. The first,

The support and love between the characters.

I read mixed reviews on this book, it took about a month before i decided to take a risk. I'm glad I did. If you are looking for zombie horror and gore this isn't it. This is a story about a boy caught between two worlds. One doesn't want him and the other can't live without him. His optimism and compassion will touch readers. I really wish it didn't end the way it did, Stony deserved so much more.
