I enjoyed this book and can't wait until the next book in the series comes out. I will definitely be getting this one.
If you need some motivation to start making healthy choices in your life, this is the book for you! It is a lighter version of his other book "Dr. A's Habits of Health" and contains simple ways for you to improve your health long term.
This is a typical Nicolas Sparks book, he always makes me cry. This one, although emotional, was not quite the tear jerker as his previous books.
The storyline was pretty predictable but was enjoyable to hear how the story played out. I enjoyed the two story lines and how they became connected in the end. I could do without the music between chapters, however. I also enjoyed the two different narrators and they did an excellent job.
I would recommend this book, especially if you have enjoyed Nicholas Sparks previous work.
Usually when authors read their books, it ends up to be a dull read. Jon Acuff had such enthusiasm and read quite naturally. I don't think anyone could have done a better job reading this book.
I happened to love this book, but I can see how people would either love it or hate it. His confidence does come off a little bit conceited. I didn't agree with his idea that you shouldn't have a life purpose but I did agree that you should live each day WITH purpose.
The author gave some good ideas of being extraordinary but I wish he would have talked more about "punching fear in the face".
All in all, I would recommend this book.
This is one of my favorite self-development books! This author gave you practical methods to effectively communicate with others.
I enjoyed the part about being "interested" and not "interesting", showing interest in other people and making them feel "felt".
I was worried that this book may be too technical & boring since it was written by a psychiatrist. I was pleasantly surprised that it was very interesting. The author expressed excellent strategies to use along with good examples of conversations. These will be very useful in everyday situations. I am currently listening to the book a second time (hoping that I can remember everything).
If you would like to learn how to effectively communicate with people, you should definitely get this book!
