  • To the Lighthouse

    • UNABRIDGED (7 hrs and 36 mins)
    • By Virginia Woolf
    • Narrated By Phyllida Law
    • Whispersync for Voice-ready

To the Lighthouse is at once a vivid impressionist depiction of a family holiday, and a meditation on a marriage, on parenthood and childhood, on grief, tyranny and bitterness. Its use of stream of consciousness, reminiscence, and shifting perspectives gives the novel an intimate, poetic essence, and at the time of publication in 1927 it represented an utter rejection of Victorian and Edwardian literary values.

Melinda says: "Sweet Mystery of Life"
    "Perfect. Thank you."

What an astounding piece of writing. I am grateful for it, and feel enriched by it. V. Woolf achieves extraordinary things in this work, and I will go back to it several times before I can hope to see inside of it all. Phylidda Law's performance is absolutely beautiful and in my opinion adds a tremendous amount to the experience. Heartfelt thanks to all involved.

  • Anna Karenina

    • UNABRIDGED (38 hrs and 5 mins)
    • By Leo Tolstoy
    • Narrated By David Horovitch

Anna Karenina seems to have everything - beauty, wealth, popularity and an adored son. But she feels that her life is empty until the moment she encounters the impetuous officer Count Vronsky.

Marcus Vorwaller says: "Beautiful story, amazing narration"
    "Psychiatry in HD,a thriller,superb, crushing."

The combination of Tolstoy's high definition rendering of his character's complex hearts and minds with the virtuosity of this narrator's gifts results in a rare audiobook experience here. Hold on to your hat and prepare yourself for a real donkey kick of an ending. This is a classic for a reason. It is a masterpiece.

  • James and the Giant Peach

    • UNABRIDGED (2 hrs and 42 mins)
    • By Roald Dahl
    • Narrated By Jeremy Irons

When James Henry Trotter accidentally drops some magic crystals by the old peach tree, strange things start to happen. The peach at the top of the tree begins to grow, and before long it's as big as a house. Then James discovers a secret entranceway into the fruit, and when he crawls inside, he meets a bunch of marvelous oversized friends: Old-Green-Grasshopper, Centipede, Ladybug, Miss Spider, and more.

Charles says: "Fun for all ages!"
"Pure pleasure, I give it 5 stars."

Absolutely delicious. Jeremy Irons takes this incredibly imaginative, hilarious tale and makes it into pure ear candy. If only it were 10 hours instead of two. This is an real gem, and certainly not just for fact, I enjoyed and appreciated it much more in 2005 than I did in `1975. You can't possibly regret this listen!

  • Your Mac Life, 1-Month Subscription

    • ORIGINAL (2 hrs and 31 mins)
    • By Shawn King
    • Narrated By Shawn King

Your Mac Life, hosted by Shawn King, is one of the most popular Mac broadcasts in the world. Download and listen to this weekly, Web-based "radio show" about and for Apple and Mac users. Stay on top of the what's new in the world of Macs, listen to interviews with Mac-related newsmakers, and pick up technical tips to help you make the most of your Mac.

James says: "Fun to listen, and sometimes I learn stuff"
    "don't believe the hype"

This show delivers very little useful information. You will sit through hours of infuriatingly unfunny jokey radio show drivel hoping that the intelligent, incisive, informative discussion is about to begin, but it never does. This was very disappointing, and a complete waste of time. Three words for this show: no thank you.
